  • 1. World Bearings to 2016This study analyzes the world bearings industry. It presents historical demand data for the years 2001,2006 and 2011, and forecasts for 2016 and 2021 by product (e.g., roller bearings, ball bearings, plainbearings), market (e.g., motor vehicles, machinery), world region and major country. The study alsoconsiders market environment factors, details industry structure, evaluates company market shares andprofiles industry participants.Global demand to rise 8% per year through 2016Worldwide demand for bearings is expected to increase 8.0 percent per year to $95 billion in 2016.Unmounted ball and roller bearings will make up threequarters of total sales in 2016, with the market forthese products reaching $71 billion. Global sales of unmounted plain bearings will rise to $11 billion in2016, while aggregate demand for mounted bearings, bearing parts and combinationtype bearings will be$13 billion in the same year. In mature bearing markets (such as Western Europe, Japan, and NorthAmerica) growth in demand will be driven by rebounding motor vehicle production and a healthy fixedinvestment environment. In nations where the bearing market is developing, sales will increase on rapidlyincreasing durable goods manufacturing and the improving ability of the average consumer to purchaseitems such as motor vehicles and appliances -- boosting demand for these goods both frommanufacturers and in the aftermarket.Strong exports to aid developing region gainsDemand for bearings in Western Europe, Japan, and the US -- historically the largest markets -- willexpand at above historical rates between 2011 and 2016. In many of these countries the level ofmanufacturing activity plummeted during the 2006-2011 period (especially motor vehicle output),dragging associated bearing sales downward. As manufacturing recovers to pre-decline levels, gains inbearing demand will be well above those posted in the 2001-2011 period, due partially to the extremelylow levels of demand in 2011. In addition, promising export markets in the developing world for industrialproducts and a variety of durable goods will aid in the rapid acceleration of bearing sales to originalequipment manufacturers.Get your copy of this report @ http://www.reportsnreports.com/reports/175686-world-bearings-to-2016.htmlReport Details:Published: July 2012No. of Pages: 452Price: US$6300
  • 2. Motor vehicle, machinery markets to remain dominantThe motor vehicle and machinery markets accounted for just over 70 percent of global bearing demand in2011. Although these two markets will remain the largest in 2016, sales of bearings used in aerospaceand other applications will increase slightly faster, reducing the overall share of sales held by motorvehicle and machinery bearing suppliers. Sales to all of these markets will be boosted by greater outputof aircraft, rail equipment, motorcycles, electronic devices and medical equipment in the developingnations, along with moderate gains in these same categories in the rest of the world.COMPANY PROFILESProfiles for 32 global players including JTEKT, NSK, NTN, Schaeffler, SKF, and TimkenAdditional InformationThis study examines worldwide demand for bearings. The following types of products are included:unmounted ball, roller, and plain bearings; mounted and combined ball/roller bearings (units that includeboth balls and rollers); and bearing parts (balls, rollers cages, cups, rings, etc.). Excluded from the scopeof this study are flexure, fluid, magnetic, and other types of bearings products; adaptor and withdrawalsleeves; lock nuts and washers; lubricators; and retaining plates.Demand is presented by product, geographic sector, and market. Historical data are provided for 2001,2006, and 2011, with forecasts for the years 2016 and 2021. The term “demand” actually refers to“apparent consumption,” and is defined as production (also variously referred to as “shipments,” “output”or “supply”) from a country’s indigenous manufacturing facilities plus imports, minus exports. It is usedinterchangeably with the terms“market,” “sales,” and “consumption.” Data are presented in thousands ofmetric tons and millions of US dollars.Information and data on the bearing market were obtained from a variety of primary and secondarysources. Consultations with producers, end users, consultants, industry specialists, and trade associationpersonnel were pursued. Secondary data were obtained from government, trade associations, and otherprivate sources. Corporate information sources included annual reports, SEC Form10-K filings, productreleases, prospectuses, and conversations with responsible officers within the companies themselves.Publications consulted for background information included Automation World, Japan Journal ofCommerce, Machine Design, Medical Device and Diagnostics Industry, Plant & Works Engineering,Power Transmission Engineering, and Ward’s Motor Vehicle Facts & Figures.Table Of contentsINTRODUCTIONI.
