Todorov’s Narrative theory

Todorov suggested that stories always begin in a state of equilibrium where opposing forces are in balance. Then an event will disrupt the equilibrium and a chain of events will follow until equilibrium has been restored.
The 5 stages are ;
1. a state of equilibrium at the outset;
2. a disruption of the equilibrium by some action;
3. a recognition that there has been a disruption;
4. an attempt to repair the disruption;
5. a reinstatement of the equilibrium
This narrative structure is very similar to our trailer however the trailer does not show the ending events leading to the equilibrium once again.
