•These steps are not a perfect recipe for printing, only a rough set of
steps to get you started in the right direction.
•Each project is different, you can not go through this blindly expecting
the screens as you see here.Yours may vary.
•You should be looking through options if you need to trouble-shoot any
process.You can try changing items as needed if this process doesn’t
work correctly.
•There are other students in class that can help. But there should be no
one who does it for you.
•This printing dialogue will require you to be aware of minor setting that
make a big difference. Please compare these windows carefully.
3. Getting Started

• Open Photoshop and your project that you will be printing
• Head to the printer and load the 12x18 paper into Tray1,
and set it up for that size and paper type via the top LCD
screen.**
4. Check the image size
CROP OR CHANGE IT TO 12X18 AT 200 OR 300 PPI
PIXELS PER INCH
5. Crop if needed
IN THE CROP TOOL, SET THE SETTINGS ACCORDING TO
THE SIZE YOU NEED, 12X18 AT 300 PPI LOOKS LIKE THIS.
6. The Print Dialogue
LOTS OF SETTINGS, BUT SIMPLE TO UNDERSTAND. WE
WILL ONLY BE CHANGING A FEW THINGS.
7. Set the Printer

3. CLICK SHOW DETAILS TO EXPAND THE WINDOW... 4.
CHANGE THE PAPER SIZE TO THE 12X18 SIZE.

8. CHANGE THE LAYOUT
PORTRAIT IS THE TALLER ONE, LANDSCAPE IS THE WIDER ONE.
CHOOSE THE ONE THAT APPLIES BEST TO YOUR LAYOUT.
9. Scale your Image to fit
CLICK THE SCALE TO FIT MEDIA BOX. THE PERCENTAGE
BELOW SHOULD BE 97% IF EVERYTHING IS CORRECT.
10. Now click printHEAD OVER TO THE PRINTER AND SEE WHAT
THAT IS NOW ASKING FOR YOU TO TELL IT TO
DO.
11. Head to the printer.
• The DATA light should be flashing.All is Okay...
• The ATTENTION light will flash. Look at the LCD
and figure out what settings need to be input.
• The paper size and type will need to be input,
otherwise the toner will not stick to the page if the
paper is heavy.
• You will have to submit one perfectly printed copy
from ROCKY for the points. ROCKY image defects
will not be deducted.
• Pairing up is ideal and suggested...doing it for
someone is frowned upon.
