Girls & Boys Town of Central Florida UCF Partnership in the Quest Home Renovation Project

What is the Girls & Boys Town? Since opening the Central Florida chapter in 1986, Girls and Boys Town of Central Florida has directly helped more than 15,000 local children. Each year Girls and Boys Town continues to be a leader in the treatment and care of abused, abandoned and neglected girls and boys. Throughout its nearly 90-year history, the nonprofit, nonsectarian organization has provided these children with a safe, caring and loving environment where they gain confidence to better themselves and learn skills to become better, more productive citizens.

How is UCF helping the Girls and Boys Town? As a team of eager college students from the University of Central Florida, we accepted the challenge of making a difference and assisting the Girls and Boys Town in the renovation of the Quest Home at the Central Florida location. We are looking forward to developing an inviting recreational area and establishing a lounge area that creates a positive social environment. We also are creating a storage area, which will serve as a resource for children to receive necessities, such as clothes & hygiene products, easily. The Quest Home will allow the facilitation of strong interpersonal skills, proper learning, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles for the children.

How You can help We need Funds, donated specialized labor (mainly in construction), and donated materials & supplies to assist us in the complete renovation of the Quest Home . We need assistance in: Air Conditioning & Duct Repair Drywall, Insulation & Ceiling Repair Plumbing & Electrical Flooring & Doors Countertops & Cabinetry Cosmetic work (i.e. painting, molding etc.) Donated Goods (i.e. PC, TV, DVD Player, Desk etc.)

Our project will be shown to future classes containing 1,100 students per semester, in which our slideshow will contain our acknowledgement of sponsors.
