    • WEB 2.0 Second generation of internet based services Intractive information sharing It include tools that let people collaborate and share information online    
    • Examples of Web 2.0 Hosted services Web applications Social Networking sites Video­sharing sites Wikis Folksonomies Blogs Mashups    
    • Characteristics Web 2.0 websites allow users to do more than just  retrieve information It allows users to run software­applications entirely  through a browser. These sites may have an "Architecture of  participation" that encourages users to add value  to the application as they use it.    
    • Technology Overview Web 2.0 draws together the capabilities of client­  and server­side software, content syndication and  the use of network protocols.  Andrew McAfee used the acronym SLATES to refer  to them S­Search, L­Links, A­Authoring, T­Tags,         E­ Extensions, S­Signals    
    • Search­Finding information through keyword search. Links­connects information together into a  meaningful ecosystem Authoring­The ability to create and update content  Tags­Categorization of content by users Extensions­Software that makes the Web an  application platform as well as a document server. Signals­The use of syndication technology such as  RSS to notify users of content changes.    
    • AJAX The technology that used in web 2.0 development  are Asynchronous Javascript and XML(AJAX),  Adobe flash, and the Adobe flex frameworks    
    • WordPress WordPress is an open source blog publishing  application powered by PHP and MySQL. It has many features including a plugin architecture  and templating system It is a powerful blog software in use today    
    • Features It has a templating system which includes widgets  that can be rearranged without editing PHP or  HTML code Themes can also be editied for more advanced  customizations It has a rich plugin architecture which allows users  and developers to extend its functionality beyond  the features that come as part of the base install.
