Visualisation It endeavours to create a centre for stimulated social Winner of international competition exchange and sharing of ideas within a contemporary academic village. The value assigned to the forested and steep topographic nature of the site has meant it necessary to minimise building footprints and circulation routes; maximising building efficiency whilst avoiding cutting into the natural contours of the landscape. An estimated 70% of the natural landscape has remained untouched, creating a legacy of parkland; a unique resource for the well-being of its inhabitants. A network of sensitive routes allows cycling and walking deep into the hilly landscape where follies provide places for study, meeting and contemplation. Equally students may choose to reflect upon the landscape from within the more formal arrangements of the courtyards. The integration of buildings within the unique landscape respects the harmonious relationship between man and nature providing visually rich setting for learning and inspiration. 12 Jacqueline Jiang-Haines Portfolio
