  • Kathy I was first introduced to the Change Management SIG at the Collaborate 10 Conference. It was my first National OAUG conference and I was very excited about the peer-to-peer communication and the learning opportunities that the conference provided. However, I was most excited about the presentations about Change Management. I’m lucky, my company actually has an Operations Change Management role in our E-Business Administration Department. I am one of only two Change Managers. I focus on End User Adoption, and routinely analyze, document, and train business processes and user procedures as we enlarge our Oracle Applications footprint and move toward implementing R12 and other new functionality. The Change Management topics at Collaborate 10 ranged from functional to technical concerns about organization change. They included introductions to change theory and models for change management, internal system control application case studies, tools for documentation like Oracle UPK and Tutor, and Cases studies presented by Oracle Users who worked through change. I joined the SIG leadership team and started working on reinstating our webinar series to continue learning and sharing information with other Oracle Users engaged in Change..

  • Kathy – We want this webinar series to be useful and interesting to you , the SIG membership. Therefore, one of the most important purposes of this webinar is to solicit your input. We want to hear from you to learn your preferred topics for future Webinar presentations: All: Contribute some suggestions if needed to stimulate conversation.
  • Kathy – It is also time to solicit presentations for next year’s Collaborate conference. Here is the list of topics; We want the presentations to be meaningful to IT change control users as well as to those managing functional change. We are all in this together. Functional and Technical processes to manage change always work in tandem.

  • Kathy/ I have a presentation lined up for a 9/14 webinar: Topic: Business Process Mapping - Achieving the Promise Abstract: Business process mapping is frequently cited as an important technique to use when making changes to improve your business. At the same time, it is surprising how little process mapping is actually done and how ineffective the results can often be when it is done. This presentation will discuss some of the reasons for the gap between the theory and the practice, and propose some ideas for achieving the promise of Business Process Mapping. Other presenters include:
