Nick GoldsmithGoldsmith is one of the pair that is Hammer And Tongs. He was born in 1971 and was educated at Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys school in Hertfordshire. Goldsmith produces films and music alongside Garth Jennings, who is the better known through the media for directing the films and producing the music. Goldsmith produced ‘The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy’ in 2005. He then produced ‘Son Of Rambow’ in 2007 which was released in the UK on the 4th of April 2008. Jennings directed and Wrote the film receive most of the credit for it. It is a Hammer and Tongs produced film though as both Goldsmith and Jennings produced and directed it.

FilmGarth Jennings from hammer and tongs also directs films. He directed ‘the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy’ which was a strange comedy about aliens and the universe beyond earth. The film was released on the 28th of April 2005. the film won ‘The Golden Trailer’ award but was never a big hit in the film industry.

BADLY DRAWN BOY- DISILLUSIONS‘Badly Drawn Boys’ music video ‘disillusions’ is directed by the Hammer and Tongs member, Garth Jennings. It was directed in 2000 and is from the album ‘Hour Of The Bewilderbeast’ . Garth directs many male bands/artists such as Vampire Weekend, Travis, The Wanadies, Fat Boy Slim and Badly Drawn Boy. In this video there are many shots similar to many other videos Jennings produces for example he uses establishing shot in ‘Vampire Weekend – A-Punk’ and also in ‘Disillusions’. He likes to establish the scene and where the videos are set to help the viewer understand the basis of the video. In ‘Disillusions’ he uses close ups and two shots very often to show the characters personality through there expressions and body language, the main characters are shown often moving. Vampire Weekend A-PunkHammer and Tongs also Directed Vampire weekend’s music video A-Punk. They directed the music video in 2008.http://www.tubechop.com/watch/28696In the music video they use mainly long shots and mid shots but the entire video is speeded up so it appears to be played in fast forward. Also they like to mess with the imagery in the video an example of this is when they film the main singer in a mid shot and the rest of the band in the background.
