3. 3. The Circulatory System
The circulatory system is made up of blood vessels and muscles that help control the flow of blood around the body. This process is called circulation.
4. 4. Main Parts of the Circulatory System
The main part of the circulatory system is the human heart. There are others important parts. These are:

Arteries
    5. 5. Veins
    6. 6. Capillaries
    7. 7. Blood

What does the Circulatory System Do?
The human circulatory system has one job. Its main job is to transport blood and oxygen from the lungs to the other tissues of the body.
8. 8. How the Circulatory System Works
There are 3 steps that all happen at the same time within the body.
Systemic Circulation – Where the blood is moved around the body
Pulmonary Circulation – Where the blood is carried to the lungs
Coronary Circulation - This provides the heart with its own supply of blood
9. 9. Blood and Heart Vessels
Your blood travels around your body in tubes called blood vessels
Your blood goes from your heart into your arteries then travels around your body
10. 10. Blood and Oxygen
Blood is pumped into the right side of the heart. It goes to the lungs and gets oxygen and leaves through the left of your heart and goes to all of the body cells.
FACT
The Circulatory system has a network of blood vessels over 100,000 Km long. They consist of three things (Arteries, Veins and Capillaries).
11. 11. Problems
If the Arteries, Veins and Capillaries don’t work you will not get oxygen pumped through your body and you will have a heart attack.
If you eat a lot of take away foods, food that is very high in acid (e.g. tomatoes, fried food, vinegar, oranges) you will get a heart burn.
If you smoke, eat high fat foods, drink a lot of alcohol you will clog your arteries and you could get cancer and have a heart attack!
12. 12. Taking Care
Do not smoke
Eat healthy
Drink healthy
Don’t take drugs
Exercise
