1. Internet Safety and Acceptable Use Policies
These are some guidelines that will allow for an easy and safe internet experience.
1. Learn everything you can about the Internet.
a. Have the students and yourself become familiar with the internet and be sure to
have an open dialogue with the class about what the internet’s purpose is. It is
important to instill students with the knowledge that the internet is for exploring,
and learning.
2. I understand that I will not put out any personal information such as address, telephone
number etc. private and secure.
3. I will familiarize myself with my school board's Acceptable Use Policy for the Internet
and the responsibilities I would have to ensure my students safety.
4. Create a classroom online agreement that lists appropriate sites for students to visit and
have an open dialogue about appropriate use of the internet, along with the dangers they
might be faced with (cyber bullying, child predators, etc.)
5. I will not post any student pictures online without their permission.
6. I will not use the internet to promote illegal, sexually explicit or dangerous activities.
7. I will teach and follow the rules about the importance of copyright and intellectual
policies in my classroom.
