Emily Haines and James Shaw
• Band was initially called Mainstream
• Two other members joined the band in 2001

• Sold twice as many copies as first album
• Approached to open for Rolling Stones

8. Worldwide touring
• With second album a huge success travelled
extensively
• Including: France, Turkey Sweden, United
States, Canada and more
• The album was re-released 2001 with altered
tracks

9. Fantasies
• Fourth album released April 7th 2009
• Bands best selling album

10. Vancouver Olympics 2010
• The band came together with other Canadian
artists to benefit the Haiti telethon in
Vancouver
• Performed acoustic version of Help I’m Alive

11. Synthetica
• Album released June 12th 2012
• Band used social media to secretly release
new song
• Had fans try to find the song through online
media content
