  • 2. Start with a Purpose• What is your purpose? – Should have a clear connection between event and your org • Tradition of your organization • Serve campus/community • Celebration • Training/transitioning • Other examples?
  • 3. Getting Others on Board• Be in agreement• Purpose should guide marketing and planning• Define learning outcomes and/or take- aways
  • 4. Maintaining a Budget• Have a firm number• Make sure use of funds is appropriate based on the organizations revenue• Analyze various cost components in an organized manner• BE FLEXIBLE
  • 5. Requesting Funding• Only registered student organizations may request funding• Dates • April 15: events occurring June 1 - August 15
July 1: events occurring August 16 - October 15
September 1: events occurring October 16 - December 31
November 15: events occurring January 1 - March 15
February 1: events occurring March 16 - May 31• Registered treasurers may access the online request form by logging into the management site at the top right of the student organization website.• Registered student organizations may apply for up to $2000 or $3000 in programming funds depending on established status.
