What we are doing <ul><li>As part of our new Global Gatherings campaign to engage localised groups of Young Professionals(YP’s) and promote the MDG’s IYPF is: </li></ul><ul><li>Planning a series of events around the world on the 17 th of October to coincide with the Global StandUp Campaign, involving both IYPF members and Young Professionals. </li></ul>
  4. 4. StandUp <ul><li>StandUp is a decentralised campaign run by the Millennium Campaign to promote poverty alleviation. StandUp encourages people to run any kind of event, so long as it promotes the key message. </li></ul><ul><li>IYPF will focus on events best suited to attract Young Professionals. </li></ul>

IYPF StandUp Events <ul><li>Accessible to uninitiated YP’s </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Not too technical or ‘deep’ in content & discussion – not ‘elitist’ </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Short presentation on StandUp, the MDG’s and IYPF. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Focused on networking and being informed on global issues, the UN, and MDG’s </li></ul><ul><li>Attended by 10-40 people </li></ul>

Objectives <ul><li>Project Specific </li></ul><ul><li>Hold in excess of 30 events </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Held in 12 countries in 2007 </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Make people more familiar with IYPF, StandUp, and MDG’s. </li></ul><ul><li>Global Gathering Specific </li></ul><ul><li>Create a template for which future events can be run. </li></ul><ul><li>To catalyse the creation of localised teams of Young Professionals we can use to run future events and assist with future initiatives. </li></ul>
