Units of measure conversion enable you to perform transactions in units other than the primary unit of the item being transacted. You can define:
Conversion common to any item within an unit of measure class (Standard)
Conversion for a specific item within an unit of measure class (Intra-class)
Conversion for a specific item between unit of measure class (Inter-class)

Dual UOM Processing in Procurement
Procurement module allows users to choose whether or not to cost their orders based on the secondary quantity or the transaction quantity at the time of receipt. This functionality is used to determine how the unit cost and extended amount are calculated for the receipt of a Dual UOM item.

Sales orders can be entered in two UOMs
Shipping can select the lot for which both the UOMs are defined
The pricing unit of measure can be defined as either the primary or the secondary unit of measure for the item. Price lists are then created for that item in its pricing unit of measure
