It takes about four to six weeks to complete one cycle of ICSI. You'll have to wait for your partner's ovaries to respond to the medication and for her eggs to mature. You and your partner will spend a full day at your doctor's office or clinic, having her eggs and your sperm retrieved. Your partner will have to come back again to have the embryos inserted inside her uterus, but she'll be able to go home that same day.

ICSI involves the insertion of asingle sperm directly into the cytoplasm of a mature egg (oocyte) using a special microinjection pipette(glass needle). After sperm injection into the egg, further culture and embryo transfer is as with the IVFcases. For patients with subfertile semen, this procedure is preferable to IVF. It was introduced in 1992and was welcomed as a breakthrough in fertility treatment where the problem is on the man’sside.Since then ICSI has become the most successful technique in male infertility treatment. In ICSI onlyone sperm is needed, which is injected directly into the egg. ICSI is now used in nearly half of all the IVFtreatments.Fertility Tests for Men:Although many people still think of fertility as a "womans problem," up to half of all cases of infertilityinvolve problems with the man. In fact, about 20% to 30% of the time, a mans low fertility is the mainobstacle to conception. So its crucial that men get tested for fertility as well as women. Yes, it can beembarrassing, but discovering male fertility problems early can mean earlier treatment and a successfulpregnancy. Male infertility testing can also spare women unnecessary discomfort. How to decide whether ICSI is for you?If you have a low sperm count, low sperm motility or ability to swim, a damaged or missing vas deferenswhich are the tubes that carry seminal fluid from the testes to the penis, or if youve had an irreversiblevasectomy, ICSI can help you impregnate your partner.
  • 2. How is Sperm collection done?Youll provide a sperm sample. If there isnt enough sperm in your ejaculate, your doctor will removesome from the passages that carry the sperm or from your testicle with a needle. If this doesnt work, your doctor will take a biopsy of your testicular tissue, which may include sperm. Usually theseprocedures are done under local anesthesia and the recovery isnt painful. Its also possible for thesperm to be retrieved in advance and frozen until the eggs are ready for fertilization. How the treatment is done?Since ICSI is always used with in vitro fertilisation, the process starts with preparation for this procedure. The woman is given fertility drugs to stimulate egg follicle development and ovulation. Her mature ovaare then retrieved to use during ICSI.In additional preparation for ICSI, sperm is collected from the man. In cases where it is possible, spermcan be collected from a semen sample. This is the preferred method since it is less invasive, but for somemen this may not be possible. An alternate option is to harvest the sperm directly from the manstesticles using a testicular biopsy under anesthetic. The single sperm is then injected directly into the womans harvested egg with a very delicate needle. The egg will reseal itself after the needle is withdrawn, just as it does in the process of naturalfertilisation when the sperm breaks through its outer membrane. As in in vitro fertilisation without ICSI, the fertilised egg is then allowed to develop for a few days beforebeing transferred back into the womans uterus in the form of an embryo. You can take a pregnancy testabout two weeks after the embryos are placed in the uterus.ICSI is not a perfect technique. Some eggs will be damaged by the ICSI process. Some eggs have plasmamembranes that are difficult to pierce. In other instances, the fertilized egg may fail to divide, or theembryo may arrest at an early stage of development. There is 34 percent chance of conceiving with thehelp of ICSI, and a 28 percent chance of having a baby.Perinatal outcome studies in Europe suggest that although multiple pregnancies are common with ICSI,there is no evidence of increased incidence of congenital malformations or abnormal karyotype. There is
  • 3. no evidence that abnormalities may arise later in life to babies born as a result of ICSI, although there isalso no guarantee that all babies will be normal.Couples who want to conceive using ICSI are still advised to analyze their family history for geneticdiseases and disorders and consult with a doctor. They may also want to consider pre-implantationgenetic diagnosis (PGD).Length of the treatmentIt takes about four to six weeks to complete one cycle of ICSI. Youll have to wait for your partnersovaries to respond to the medication and for her eggs to mature. You and your partner will spend a fullday at your doctors office or clinic, having her eggs and your sperm retrieved. Your partner will have tocome back again to have the embryos inserted inside her uterus, but shell be able to go home thatsame day.For more information on infertility treatment, Intracytoplasmic sperm injection treatment,Intracytoplasmic sperm injection pregnancy, ICSI Procedure India, ICSI Treatment Clinics India, IVFtreatment India you may contact us at http://www.wewantababy.com orhttp://www.iwannagetpregnant.com/services/icsi.html or http://ivftreatmentindia.wordpress.com oryou can email us at info.wewantababy@gmail.comicsi treatment, icsi pregnancy, icsi cost, male infertility treatment, intracytoplasmic sperm injection cost, assisted hatching cost, icsiintracytoplasmic sperm injection, pgd cost, icsi treatment, icsi fertility treatment, ivf treatment, iui treatment, cost icsi treatment, infertility icsi, icsimonozygotic twinning, icsi painful,Find ICSI Costs,Treatment for ICSI,Best treatment offered for ICSI,male infertility icsi,ICSI for MaleInfertility,Male Factor Infertility and ICSI, ICSI for Severe Male Infertility, indications of icsi, facts of icsi, icsi clinic India, icsi treatment India, icsiprocedure India,ICSI doctors India, success rate for ICSI, IVF Fertility Procedures, IVF Fertility Procedures India, IVF Fertility, IVF FertilityProcedure Symptom, Medicine, Technology, Fertility, Reproduction, IVF Fertility India, India Fertility Hospital, Reproductive, Endocrinology,Internal Fertilization, India Hospital Tour, Men Fertility, Fertility Procedures Treatment, Vancouver Fertility Clinics, Fertility Medication, MaleInfertility Treatment, Fertility Treatment Center, Fertility Clinics In India, IVF Treatment India, IVF Mumbai India, IVF Treatment Mumbai PriceIndia, IVF Delhi Hospital, IVF Procedure, IVF Success Rate, IVF Treatment, IVF Pregnancy, IVF Process, IVF ICSI, In Vitro Fertilization, Egg Cells,Fertilized, Assisted Reproductive Technology, Fertility Clinic, IVF India, IVF Clinic, IVF Clinic Mumbai India, Test Tube Baby India, IVF BangaloreIndia, Infertility Clinic India, IVF Treatment India, Embryology And IVF News, Infertility, Fertility, IVF Clinics Specialize In The Area Of IVFTreatment, Clinics Treatments Includes ICSI Treatment Clinic, Egg Donation, Infertility Treatment, Male Infertility Treatment Female InfertilityTreatment Delhi Fertility Drugs Infertility Clinics In India Doctors, Gynecology, Pregnancy Problems Childbirth, IVF Mumbai, Test Tube BabyIndia, Women Infertility Treatment India, Infertility Treatments In India, Fertility And IVF Center, Fertility Treatment, Gynecology, MedicalTourism, Egg Donation Clinic In India, Egg Donor In India, Infertility Clinic India, IVF Treatment India, IVF Treatment, Free IVF Second Opinion, InVitro Fertilization Embryo Transfer, IVF Cycle, In Vitro Fertilization IVF, IVF Doctor, In Vitro Fertilization Process, IVF Center, IVF Implantation,Mini IVF, Free IVF Calendar, Free IVF Videos
