  • 3. 1. PRESCHOOL EDUCATION Current Situation

    • The preschool education covers the optional education of the children that are under the age of compulsory BASIC education. 427.039 of children make use of the preschool education. The number of classrooms used for preschool education is 17.031, and the average number of pupils per classroom is 18.
    •  
    • The preschool educational institutions have several different names depending on the age groups; e.g. kindergarten, daytime care house, preschool class, etc.. The preschool education is available at all the formal and non-formal educational institutions as from 2004.
    •  
    • The preschool educational institutions apply student-based programs. Such programs have been adapted to the preschool education as a result of the modification in programs for the first five years of the basic education.
    •  
    • Within the current structure, such different models as mobile education, prefabricated classroom attachments, etc. to increase the schooling rate in preschool education.

  • 5. 2. BASIC EDUCATION   Current Situation

    • The basic education has been defined as “a level that provides at least 8-year education for the children between 6-14 years old, which directs them towards high education or a job/profession.
    •  
    • In our country, the basic education has official and private basic-educational institutions. The official basic educational institutions have day-students and boarding students; and also there is open-basic education system for the adults who are out of compulsory education.
    •  
    • In our educational system English lesson starts at 4 th grade and going on until 8 th grade also in some of our private schools it starts at 1 st grade.
    •  
    • Our 6,7,8 th grade students have to take part in an exam at the end of term. According to their points they can choose a high school

  • 7. 3. SECONDARY EDUCATION   Current Situation

    • The secondary education has been defined as to “cover all the general vocational and technical secondary schools with programs of at 4 years after the basic school”.
    •  
    • The secondary educational institutions include many different types of high school. There are currently 76 different types of high school.But for a healthier transition from the secondary education to the higher education,the secondary educational institutions can be categorized in two parts as the general secondary education and vocational-technical secondary education.

    • General Academic High Schools
      • Natural sciences program
      • Social sciences program
      • Foreign language program
    •  
    • Vocational and Technical High Schools
      • Vocational training programs
      • Technical training programs
    •  
    • After finishing secondary education, our students have to take part in the student selection examination for going university.
  • 9. 4.UNIVERSITY EDUCATION   Current Situation
  • 10.   According your point which you take from exam also your interest ,you can take part in a programmme in university.   There are both public and private universities.you can choose whichever you want.   There are many kinds of branches.Some brunches are for 4 year and some others are for 5 or 6 years.In some brances English is compulsory.   After university education,you can go on your education for master or doctorate degrees.

    • In today’s world, recent changes and developments, as well as the facts such as globalization and EU process have introduced a change in training and learning needs of individuals at all levels, and thus highlighting the requirement for rearrangements in education systems in accordance with the society’s needs, and brings three subheadings in our educational system:

    • 2- Mobility in Education
    • 3- Quality in Education

    • There are a school manager, three assistant managers and forty-five teachers during 2009-2010 school year .
