INTRODUCTION:The aim of a project is to develop an online web application and information system thatmaintains and manipulates insurance survey record for our valued customer namedSaleem Siddiqui and Co., a leading insurance surveying company with four existingbranches in major cities of Pakistan. The application will allow the company to automatethe record of survey reports of its intended customers for different types of insurancepolicies like motor, fire and marine Insurance.2. BACKGROUND:In Pakistan, most of the surveying companies keep customer’s record manually and it isvery difficult for them to manipulate or search a specific customer or claim incidencerecord. So it is quite a need to develop a system that efficiently handles this recordkeeping and manipulating problems.3. EXISTING SYSTEM:For surveying companies, there is no such system available that can be used to keep andmaintain record using a fully automated environment.3.1 LimitationsThe company is spread over different branches all over the country, so manually keepingand maintaining records is limited to local branches of the company. In other words, noconcept of a central record exist 5

AIMS and objectives:The aim of the proposed system is to automate the company in order to generatecomputerized reports of different categories of insurance like Fire, Motor and MarineInsurance.5. PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS: The proposed system will maintains the data of the customers for following categories: 5.1. Operations The company will be able to insert, update and delete the record of a specific customer for given claims Fire Insurance The company will be able to insert, update and delete the record of a specific customer for a Fire incidence claim Motor Insurance The company will be able to insert, update and delete the record of a specific customer for Motor claim Marine Insurance The company will be able to insert, update and delete the record of a specific customer for a Marine incidence claim. 5.2. Roles The proposed system will be managed by different types of users with following rights Admin The admin will have complete rights i.e. to add users, delete users, view reports, delete reports and review his/her or subordinate’s work. Users The user will be able to view all information related to the company. He can use a Login and password assigned to login into system, so he can generate ,view records.6.PROPOSED SYSTEM FEATURES 6.1 Use case diagrame 6

  7. 7. 6.3 Non Functional Requirements7. PROPOSED PLAN FOR IMPLEMENTATION:Here is the complete proposed plan for implementation of our system 7.1. System Requirement Specification Requirements will be gathered within 40 days after starting the project. 7.2. Analysis: All the analysis will be done on the basis of the requirements gathered. Time required will be 15 days. 73. Documentation: Project progress reports will also be submitted and on the completion of the project, the final report and complete documentation will be submitted almost in a month. 7.4. Web Development After the web design phase, development phase will start and it will be completed within 4 months approximately. 9
  8. 8. 7.5. Testing Our testing phase will start with development phase, unit testing will be done throughout the development and at the end we will perform system testing. 7.6. Project Gantt chartFollowing are the task and their time lines: Figure 1: Project Gantt chart8. DELIVERABLE OUTCOME Deliverable outcome of the project will be in the form of a website, along with the detailed documentation of the project.9. RESOURCE REQUIRMENTS Following are the resources require accomplishing our project 9.1. Software Resource Requirements Dot Net frame The Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 will be used as Integrated Developing Environment (IDE) for the development of proposed system. Visual Studio 2010 is equipped with all essential tools that are required for the development of this system 9.2. Hardware Resource Requirements A PC with a windows operating system will be used as hardware resource with following specifications RAM: At least 2 GB of RAM will be required Hard Drive 20GB of Physical Storage Required 10
