London Excel – Two Day Conference
In regards to the conference you will be attending at the ExCeL Centre, London, I have produced
this report in order to choose the most suitable travel arrangements and accommodation.
The report will give you a breakdown of all costs and arrangements made;

As a first task I conducted a survey with my colleagues to find out what the more popular method
of transport would be.
This survey has shown that the staff would prefer to travel by train.

The next task that I completed was to search for suitable accommodation close to the conference
centre. I have based my research on 2 night’s accommodation.

Mileage to London is 195 miles one way; this is 390 miles in total for the return journey.
Travel time is 3 hours and 28 minutes one way.
I have calculated the cost of petrol for two different cars; the first is a Ford Mondeo.

After gathering all of the above information, I have come to the following conclusions;
The cheapest hotel is the Travelodge (Hotel 1) which is conveniently placed near the ExCel.
The cheapest mode of transport would be by car; however, as this does not include parking
and congestion charges, by bus has been deemed the more cost efficient.
The London underground will cost £8.90 per day (£17.80 – 2 days).
The bus stop is around the corner from Victoria station, which can be used as an access
point to the underground. You can then travel easily to your destination.
Food allowance will be £200. This is based on the company’s policy of £100 per day.
Therefore the total for the conference will be £397.80.
