  • 1. Isocentre Help Inserting images This help file shows you the basic steps of inserting images in pages in the forums and sitegroups section of Isocentre.
  • 2. Inserting images
    • Wikidot has a specific method for inserting images into pages. There are 2 steps involved.
      • First upload the image onto the page where you wan it to appear.
      • Then insert the image in the specific part of the page where you want it to appear.
  • 3. Inserting images – upload image
    • When the image you want to insert is on your computer (but not online on the internet) you have to upload it so that everyone who opens the page can see it.
    • In Wikidot (which hosts Isocentre) images are uploaded and attached to specific pages – and not into a general pool of images like a general image folder.
  • 4. To upload images or files click on the Files link at the bottom of the page You will see this section appear. Click on the Upload button and select the image file from your computer. Try to make sure that your filename has no spaces.
  • 5. When you have selected all the files you want to upload – click on Upload files
  • 6. When the files are uploaded – click on the Refresh file list link and verify that the files have appeared under the File list above.
  • 7. Inserting images
    • You can insert 3 types of images:
      • An image file that you have uploaded on your Isocentre page (as described in the last few slides)
      • An image already online on a website (if you know the URL or link to the image file)
      • An image that you have uploaded to your Flickr account (Flickr is a free photo sharing site from Yahoo)
  • 8. First make sure that your cursor is positioned where you want the image inserted. Then click on the Insert Image Wizard button.
  • 9. This is the insert image wizard. Choose the type of image you want to insert. Here we want to insert the image we just uploaded. Select the image file you want to insert. Then choose the image size specifications that you want. Finally click on the insert code button.
  • 10. Note the tags that indicate the image has been inserted. Click Preview to see how the image looks.
  • 11. There’s my image – now online!
  • 12. Other images
    • For images already online somewhere – type in the URL of the image (not the entire webpage) in the box.
    • For Flickr images – paste the Flickr image id in the box provided.
