The youth’s revolution calls for the reignof justice and equality Khalid Mohyee al-Din Abd al-Ghader al-Sheibani In the philosophy of a divine religion it is not like thatwe go to sleep like As›hab-e-Kahf (companions of thecave), and awake at the time of trouble and crisis andraise a question strongly and then go back to sleep again. Islam has talked about the youth and attached highsignificance to them more than any other religion. In factthe spread of Islam is due to the youth›s strength, andGod preserved Islam by the youth. Islam has also focusedon the youth to value their contribution to the awakeningof nations and the supporting of God›s religion and thespread of Muhammad›s (peace be upon him) message tothe whole world. The role of Muslim youths in the movements ofnations is substantial. Prophet Muhammad (peace beupon him) often talked about the youth, and there aremany traditions in which Prophet Muhammad (peace be 137 137 (Abstracts of Papers) Youth and Islamic Awakening International Conference onupon him) has addressed the youth and led them. Theprophet was trying to tell them that they are the hopes oftheir nation and those who will save the nation from theenemies› conspiracies. An examination of challenges facing Islamic awakening and the youth›s role in confronting them Farzan Shahidi It has been more than a year that the Islamic awakening and popular uprisings called «Arab spring» occurred in the North Africa and the Middle East region. During the period the region has witnessed the collapse of at least three dictators in the countries of Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya. Now the people of these countries have celebrated the collapse of these West-backed dictators. But the people are experiencing a difficult period of transition which is full of challenges. Some of the challenges, which appear to be in various areas such as intellectual, ethical, political and financial, have their roots within the countries. Conditions and138 138 infrastructural problems of the revolutionary countries (Abstracts of Papers) Youth and Islamic Awakening International Conference on such as ethnic and tribal divisions, the sediments of the culture of tyranny, lack of economic development, cultural backwardness and dependence on the world›s powers will increase the challenges. Therefore the examination of the challenges needs introduction to the conditions and states of each country as the first step. Some challenges also stem from the outsiders› conspiracies, influences, and the interferences in the revolutionary countries such as Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Yemen, etc. |The challenges can be summarized in affairs like hegemony, hijacking the revolutions, imposing models, etc. Meanwhile, the United States of America as a superpower, who proclaims the leadership of the world and at the same time pursues many open and secret objectives in the Middle East, is mostly interfering in the
revolutionary countries. Besides, the Zionist regime as astrategic ally of the United States in the region, which isafraid of the Islamic awakening wave and the developmentof resistance front more than any other country, is seekingto cause the Islamic countries trouble with reliance uponthe West and through utilizing various tools. Undoubtedly, identifying the challenges and proposing suitable solutionsin order to overcome the challenges is considered one ofthe most critical needs of the revolutionary countries for thetransition period. The role of the youth in confronting thechallenges is also prominent and undeniable, particularlywhen the essence and consistency of the Islamic awakeningand popular uprisings in the region depend on the youth. It is the very generation that should decide the fate of theIslamic and revolutionary countries. In this research, inaddition to examining and explaining the challenges facingthe Islamic awakening in the revolutionary countries, weintend to propose suitable solutions in order to overcomethe challenges with reliance upon the role of the youth. Defining the Characteristics of an Islamic Democratic Government and Comparing it with Western Liberal Democracy and the Role of the Youth in its Implementation Saeed Dahashti Ardakani Specific factors and elements have always been considered in the formation of government in human societies.
