  • 9.  Large plain areas of land WITHOUT hills or slopes. No hills No Slopes

  • 12.  Depressions Plains which are lower than the surrounding land
  • 13.  Coastal plains Flat lands near the coast
  • 14. Coastal Landscapes
  • 15. Coastal landscapes  It is the place where the land meets the sea. - low – lying coast  Two main types of coast - high coast
  • 16. Types of coasts... Low lying coast High coast They have long and sandy beaches Mountaninous or very elevated coasts. They have rocky cliffs and caves.
  • 17. Coastal landforms (shapes)  Cape: A extend of land that extends into the sea
  • 18.  Gulf It is a place where the sea extends into the land
  • 19.  Peninsula It is a land area almost surrounded by water. It is sometimes connected to the mainland by an isthmus (a narrow strip of land) isthmus
  • 20.  Island Archipelago  a group of islands It is a piece of land surrounded by water on all sides.
  • 21.  Estuary It is a part of a river which meets the sea
  • 22.  Lagoon It is an area of water which is separated from the sea by a strip of land
  • 23.  Marsh It is a wetland which forms near the mouth of a river
