2. Turquoise
• Turquoise is a not transparent blue-green or blue-green stone. It is
rare and valued for its unique colour . Turquoise can be of blue-
green shades such as dark aquamarine.
3. In many cultures turquoise was respected for thousands of years as
a talisman of luck. In ancient Egypt the emperors had it. In the
Persian Empire these stones were worn around the neck or wrist as
a protection against unnatural death.

• In our time the stones are not valued for supernatural powers, but for color
with quite a magical effect.
