  • 5. Clean Head System
    • Why is the Clean Head system Needed?
    • When the foot pedal/rheostat is released and air supply is terminated, the bur in a handpiece will spin to a stop (not instantaneously).
    • The turbine rotation under no air supply
    • generates negative pressure (vacuum) and draws
    • foreign matter (fluid, debris) upwards into handpiece head.

  • 12. Basic NL9000 Manual Maintenance
    • Remove bur from the NL9000
    • Run under warm water and clean softly with a toothbrush.
    • Attach proper nozzle to PANA spray can (this nozzle came in the package with your handpiece).
    • With nozzle attached insert into the rear of the NL9000 and spray for approximately 2-3 seconds or spray until lubrication comes out of the head.
    • Purge the NL9000 of excess spray either via an air station or by returning to the operatory and placing the handpiece back on its coupler.
    • Bag and Autoclave.
  • 13. NL9000 Automatic Maintenance Remove bur from the NL9000 and wash handpiece down to remove external debris Place theNL9000 in a Care3 Plus system and close the door Select “S” or Short Cycle and Press Start Care3 Plus automatically cleans and lubricates handpiece Bag and then autoclave
  • 14. Seating and Removing the Bur
    • Seating the Bur
    • Place the bur into the chuck. Press the push button and insert the bur into the chuck until it is secure.
    • Make sure that the bur is secure by
    • pushing and pulling the bur. This can also increase the chucking power.
    • Removing the Bur
    • Press the push-button firmly and remove the bur.
    • Make certain the bur has stopped rotating before attempting to remove.
  • 15. Changing the O-Rings
    • Over a period of time it is possible for water to leak from the coupler joint. If this occurs replace the o-rings as a complete set.
    • Simple Steps
    • Remove the handpiece from the coupling, loosen and remove the taper ring.
    • Push out the worn O-ring with your thumb. Insert new O-ring in the O-ring groove.
    • Securely tighten the taper ring.
  • 16.
    • If fiber optic light is less intense debris may be blocking the glass rod.
    • Simply wipe clean the Cellular Glass optic face with alcohol-immersed cotton swab
    • Do not use any abrasive as it may damage the cellular glass rod
