    Yes, that information can be found on the Iowa Produce Market Calculator (http://www.ctre.iastate.edu/produce/). Average yields for the crops are already in the calculator.

    Example, If you want to know if you have a surplus or a deficit of acres needed, in the left-hand column pick Surplus (Deficit), then pick your product, then pick Acres (Iowa yield), then per year. If I had chosen apples I would see that Allamakee is only 3 acres short of meeting the county needs.

    I am interested to know if there are any figures that tell us how many acres would be needed in each county to achieve the production needed for the vegetables. Rick Edwards Winneshiek county
