Further, it relates to suitability of the shape and size of sponge for buffaloesand can be conveniently inserted with the aid of simple plastic speculum and removed easily by the user. The speculum, plunger andsponges are fabricated as per the needs of buffaloes. The speculum is made up of plastic material having sufficient endurancethickness. The plunger is prepared from thick nylon material. Vaginal sponge is prepared using a sheet of spongy foam and thread.Sponge is imbibed with progesterone solution by applying small aliquots. Sponge is then dried in hot air and kept in a neat andsterilized polythene bag. Sponges are loaded in speculum through the anterior end by taking out the thread of sponge from its distalend. Liquid paraffin is applied on the outer surface of loaded speculum as lubricant for smooth insertion of speculum. After intra-vaginal insertion of loaded speculum, sponge is expelled out of the speculum into the vagina near os-cervix by pushing it through thespeculum with the help of plunger, plunger is retained and speculum is withdrawn. After expulsion of sponge, the speculum andplunger are removed carefully. Sponge is kept in situ vagina up to 10-14 days. The small gate attached to the front side of the platform has two gliding rods by which theneck of the sheep can be restrained gently. The material used in cradle is made-up of 16 gauze iron pipe (rectangular and spherical).Animal is scanned in the cradle in standing position. The operator generally used to stand near left flank of sheep. For transabdominalultrasonography a probe of 3.5 to 7 MHz is placed on the groin side of the ewe. Lubricant is used to maximize the contact betweenprobe and skin. The ideal and reliable period for transabdominal ultrasound is between 40 and 90 days of gestation. The utilization ofthis cradle for ultrasonography of sheep may result in safe and accurate scanning with out the fear of abortion and injury to the sheep.In conventional methods minimum two labours are required to restrain the ewe on its hip. As per our trialsand records of the same, the tablets/ capsules manufactured using above mentioned diseases are without any side effects/harmfuleffects on the patient.
