  • Great program to help public schools enroll qulified Chinese teachers. Are there any more details regarding how to get enrolled in this Masters program? admission process, tutition and etc.? thanks

  4. 4.  URI is the only school that offers Chinese teacher certificate in RI 30 credits in Chinese language 30 credits in education Passing OPI Chinese oral and reading test Passing national PRAXIS comprehensive test
  5. 5.  Students at Minzu University, China (MUC) are graduate students preparing to teach Chinese as a Foreign Language in a two-year Master’s program. The new program with URI would allow them to complete a joint Master’s degree with one year in China and one year in the United States. The students from MUC would arrive at URI soon after their first year in China ends at the end of June. Some of the students would attempt to obtain Rhode Island certification. They would need to pass Praxis I and the Principles of Learning and Teaching prior to student teaching as well as successfully complete all coursework to be recommended for certification.
  6. 6.  双方应认可学生在派出学校所获得的学分。双方应讨论和确 定可认学分的课程,并在附录中提供这些课程的信息。甲方 学生应在罗德岛大学修完该校硕士学位 30 个必修学分中的 19 个学分( 63% ) 双方将合作开展汉语国际教育硕士( MTCSOL )学位和初 / 中等教育硕士学位及教师资格证这一双硕士学位项目。申请 这一双硕士学位项目的学生应先在派出学校学习一学年。 罗德岛大学将授予初 / 中等教育专业硕士学位,中央民族大 学将授予汉语国际教育硕士专业学位。罗德岛大学应帮助甲 方汉语国际教育硕士专业研究生在该校学习期间进行实习。
  7. 7.  学生有责任确保在每学期结束时将学业表现记录直接寄 送到派出学校。不过,只有派出学校才能决定是否在学 生所学学位专业中认可其所获得的学分。 中央民族大学的申请者应做好语言方面的准备,以便能 够成功参与罗德岛大学的授课课程;申请者在赴美学习 前应达到罗德岛大学公布的英语水平标准(请见研究生 院网站上关于可选测试种类和最低英语水平成绩的要求 ; http://www.uri.edu/gsadmis/gs_apply_int.htm )。 甲方学生应具有良好的学业成绩( GPA3.0 ,且没有 C 或同等成绩)才能继续在本项目中学习。如果没有达到 此标准,罗德岛大学可以拒绝接收该学生继续学习,并 不退还项目费用。

  12. 12.  Rhode Island: http://www.ride.ri.gov/EducatorQuality/Certificat ion/default.aspx Applicants for world languages teacher certification in Rhode Island must take the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) and Writing Proficiency Test (WPT). The minimum passing standard for both exams is Advanced Low. Praxis II® Subject Assessments measure knowledge of specific subjects that K–12 educators will teach, as well as general and subject-specific teaching skills and knowledge.
