  • I promised I would get back to a boring product that has been digitally augmented with a fantastic result.\n\nHere it is: The bathroom scale - or the body scale. \n\nA thing that we step onto every morning to start the day off by getting depressed. Maybe one of the world's most unsexy pieces of equipment. How can we improve on this? Nicer design? More accuracy? Doesn't really matter. A body scale is pure commodity. It's one of those OBH Nordica or Braun things that our homes are filled with. And no matter how much glass or chrome you put on that thing it's no better than the last one you bought.\n\n
  • Withing has launched this scale. It’s sleek, but so are the others. They all look like space ships.\n\nBut the Withings scale is connected. It’s got wi-fi. The wi-fi isn’t the clever bit, though. The clever bit is what has been DONE with this connectivity.\n
