The Inka Jungle trail can be done in either 4 or3 days and is a mixture of both biking and hiking to Machu Picchu. It is suitable foranyone with a sense of adventure and curiosity.Also known as the jungle Inca Jungle Trek or the Inka Jungle trail, this trip is increasinglymore popular. the trail you through beautiful landscapes with impressive panoramicviews and a wide variety of flora and fauna. You spend a whole day and a night with alocal family learning more about their way of life – a very unique opportunity. Inca Jungle Trek Itinerary:Day 1: Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Abra Malaga - Santa MaríaWe will start the tour off with a transfer from your hotel or hostal to the local bus stationat 7:30 am. Our destination for the day will be to the small pueblo, Santa Maria (1,430mtrs). rolling hills and snow capped peaks of the Vilcanota Mountain Range. We willhave some opportunities to take some pictures along the way as well. There is also theoption, if the weather provides and the group agrees to, to ride for a number of hoursby bicycle from the Abra de Malaga Pass. If it is available, it makes all the difference.The 3 - 4 hour downhill ride is exhilarating and relaxing at the same time, and will not besoon forgotten.When we finally arrive, we will have some free time to rest (or explore) before havingdinner and calling it a night.Inca Jungle Trek Day 2: Santa María - Santa Teresa - Cocalmayo Hot SpringWe will begin the day’s trekking after having an energy packed breakfast. We will nowbe entering the outer jungle, as will be easily noted by the flora and fauna that we willsee. Walking through the tropical forest will provide us with many photo opportunitiesas we will have gorgeous surroundings all around us. We will even have a chance tovisit a local Coca Plantation on the way. At the highest point of the trail, we will comeacross an old Inka Trail, long out of use.At last, when we arrive to Santa Teresa, we will be able to soothe ourselves in thenaturally heated waters of the mineral enriched Hot Baths located there. We will relaxthere until it is time for Dinner. Afterwards, it will we enjoy a welcome sleep.Inca Jungle Trek Day 3: Santa Teresa - Hydroelectric Town - Aguas CalientesDay 3 will begin at 6:30 am with a typical breakfast. Today will be an even moretropical climate still as we draw nearer and nearer to the ancient city. We will walk for 5– 6 hours by the truck road to Hydro-Electric Power Plant, where there is a sacredceremonial site, IntiHuatana waiting for us, from here we will get Aguas Calientestrekking by the rail way , where we will immediately transfer to our hotel for the night.That night we will share a dinner with our guide as he briefs us on the next day’s plansbefore going to sleep.Inca Jungle Trek Day 4: Aguas Calientes - Machu Pichu - Aguas Calientes - CuscoWe will wake up extremely early, at 4:00 am, in order to start trekking up the mountainto Machu Pichu in time to catch the sunrise at top. It will be approximately an hour and45 minutes to reach the top. When we first arrive, our guide will give us a 2 hour guidedtour, enlightening us about all of the rich history of the ancient ruins around us. There isso much that our guide can teach us about all that we know about the site so far.After the guided portion of the tour, you will have some free time to explore the ruins onyour own. If you want to climb Huayna Pichu, then it is recommended that you go to
