    13. CAN-SPAM • Use clear subject lines that are relevant to the content. • If using systems other than Infusion, ensure that contacts that opt- out are opted-out of both systems. • Do not send to people who have unsubscribed from previous systems • Make you opt-out clear and conspicuous. • Use a From Address that is active and monitored. (Do not use noreply@example.com) © 2009 Infusionsoft. All rights reserved.
    14. Lead Generation • Use Double Opt-in • Do not send to list of “other members of my association or organization” • Don’t buy, harvest, borrow, or share lists. • Use a checkbox (not checked by default) to allow users to opt-in on web-forms that are not explicitly signing the users up for marketing. (e.g. Free Report) • Send a double opt-in confirmation to any lead collected offline to ensure that the email address given was correct and that it was entered in the system correctly. • When collecting leads offline (e.g. At events) ensure that it is clear to the customer that they are signing up for follow-up emails. © 2009 Infusionsoft. 15. Sending/Content • Send information relevant to what the recipient signed up for. • Use consistent branding throughout your emails. • Segment your list based on expectations and interests. • Avoid trying to hide perceived spammy words (e.g. F.R.E.E) • Avoid excessively large or small fonts • Avoid image only emails © 2009 Infusionsoft. All rights reserved.
    16. List Maintenance • Remove contacts from your list that have been inactive for six or more months. (e.g. No clicks, opens, or purchases) • Remove bounces from your list of sending emails. • Send re-engagement emails to contacts older than 6 months. • Send re-confirmation emails to contacts that don’t respond to your re- engagement emails. © 2009 Infusionsoft.
