  1. 1. Research students quick guide The University uses single‐sign on to authenticate our students and provide access to our e‐resources on and off campus. This has to be done via the portal. Log in to the portal http://portal.gre.ac.uk/ Select the Library & Computing/IT tab In the e‐library channel, select Databases, Journals and e‐books On the Library Databases page the e‐resources are arranged alphabetically by title Select the letter of the alphabet for the resource you need along the top of the A‐Z list or scroll down to it in the list. Note: Some resources require you set up a proxy server on the PC you are using if accessing from home or off campus.Save time by…Using the Library Catalogue & e-resources Databases to search include EBSCOhost, SciVerse Science Direct, SciVerse Scopus, IEEE/IET Library, Wiley Online Library, SpringerLink and SwetsWise for articles, conference proceedings and other scholarly information.   2. 2.  Check your loans and reservations  Renew your booksExploiting access to external resourcesUse the Document Supply service via the libraries at the Drill Hall, Greenwich andAvery Hill to request books for loan and individual articles in journals and that thelibrary does not subscribe to http://goo.gl/6nhl5.SCONUL Access Scheme www.access.sconul.ac.ukMPhil and PhD research students can register as Band A users via their homeinstitution library (the Drill Hall, Greenwich and Avery Hill); by completing aregistration form at the library desk. This entitles you to join any of the librariesparticipating in the scheme and borrow from them (normally 5 loans). Taughtpostgraduates are registered as Band C users.Also search across the library catalogues of higher education institutions within theM25 at Search25 http://www.search25.ac.uk/.
