Police Transport Command History of Police Transport Command (PTC)  Established May 2012  Command led by Assistant Commissioner, reporting to Deputy Commissioner Specialist Operations  NSW Government handed PTC responsibility for policing public transport network in metropolitan Sydney, Illawarra, Central Coast, Newcastle and Hunter Region  Previous Commuter Crime Units (CCU) that were attached to Local Area Commands primarily focused on rail network  610 officers to be recruited by December 2014
