Wong-A-Ton – www.bizsupportonline.netApplies to: InfoPath 2010, SharePoint 2010, SharePoint Designer 2010, Office 2010InfoPath 2010 is a tool to create electronic (digital) forms, so the first thing you can dowith InfoPath 2010 is create electronic forms. These forms can be filled out using adesktop application such as InfoPath Filler 2010 or a browser through SharePoint 2010.The second thing you can do with InfoPath 2010 is use it to create XML files thatadhere to an XML schema definition. InfoPath 2010 offers easy creation of the structureof XML files without you requiring knowing anything about XML or XML schemas. The third thing you can do with InfoPath 2010 is create forms that serve as userinterfaces such as a form to insert data into a database, forms to pass data to aSharePoint workflow, or even a form to search for documents and files in SharePoint2010 through a SharePoint Search form. In all of these cases, the data is not stored inan InfoPath form (as is the case with the two previous uses for InfoPath 2010), butrather in a data store that is external to the InfoPath form. The fourth thing you can do with InfoPath 2010 is integrate it with other applicationssuch as Word, Excel, Access, and SharePoint-related products such as SharePoint 2010,SharePoint Designer 2010, and SharePoint Workspace.Want to learn more?
