I’m off to uni and I’ve got an iPad! Now what do I do with it?Andrew Walsh, University of Huddersfield, email@example.comStudents and staff come to university with a range of computing devices from eBookreaders, through tablet computers, netbooks, laptops, to fully blown desktop devices,hoping to use them in their studies. This poster describes an on-going HEA fundedproject (“A Multitude of mobile devices for learning”) which started in September2012 at the University of Huddersfield. The project facilitates peer support workshopsto improve student skills when using the devices to search for, organise and manageinformation for university study. A small group of students co-ordinate and run theseworkshops for their fellow students, with support from the library. The aim of theworkshops is to improve the attendees’ information literacy and academic learningskills in the mobile environment. This poster will describe the project and itsoutcomes so far, describing how the workshops were organised and some keyissues that were raised by workshop attendees.
