About Ralph M. Paiewonsky The memorial plaque to the left of the front door bears the name Ralph M. Paiewonsky, the sixteenth governor of the United States Virgin Islands. Elected in 1961, education was a significant part of his platform and he saw to the establishment of the College of the Virgin Islands the following year. In 1969, this library was named in his honor.

Entrance As you pull the glass door to walk in, this is what you will see. Note that entrance is through the left turnstile and exit is to your right. In keeping with local traffic in the U.S.V.I., please ‘drive’ on the left. From the moment you enter these doors, please be advised that the following rules apply: Cellular phones may only be used without sound.
