Creating References with EndNote

Accessing and creating an EndNote Library

Access EndNote from your desktop via All Programs; EndNote; EndNote Program

Access EndNote from

your desktop via All

Programs; EndNote;

EndNote Program

Name and save your library

Blank library ready to add references

Adding a reference

Select New Reference from the References menu

Choose a reference type from the menu

Fill in as much detail as required and close the reference

Preview of how the reference will look in your bibliography

Inserting references into Microsoft Word

Activate the EndNote toolbar in Word

Select the reference you wish to insert

Place the cursor where you wish to insert the reference

Click on ‘insert selected citation’ from the EndNote toolbar

The reference will appear in the text and…

… .in an alphabetical list at the end of your document
