    3. 3. Appliance Design • Fabricated from Nickel Titanium alloy to provide the advantages of shape memory, spring back and light continuous force distribution. • It incorporates the characteristics of utility arch as well as conventional intrusion arch. • Available in 2 sizes – 0.016 X 0.022 – 0.017 X 0.025 www.indiandentalacademy.com

    5. 5. Mechanics • • • The CTA’s basic mechanism for force delivery is a ‘V’ bend which lies just anterior to the molar brackets. It is calibrated to deliver approximately 40 – 60 gms of force. Incisor intrusion requires about 50 gms of force directed apically along the centre of resistance. Intrusion 1mm / 6 weeks www.indiandentalacademy.com

    7. 7. • In class II div 2 cases, full engagement in incisor brackets will create a moment for lingual root torque that will flare the incisors. • Here CTA is not cinched back. www.indiandentalacademy.com
