In United States, summer is often considered to begin

…and end at the Labor Day* weekend.
*Typically, the first Monday in September.

Summer is the time when elementary and secondary
schools close down for the "summer vacation".

In most countries children are out of school during this
time of year for summer holidays, although dates vary.

In the Northern Hemisphere, some vacations
begin as early as May.

In Southern Hemisphere, summer vacation includes
the major holidays of Christmas and New Year's Day.

In summer, people enjoy vacations on beaches,
…

…eat ice cream, drink at lemonade stands,…

… and do lots of fun stuff.

At the end of summer, schools begin again!

And some parts of the world get lots of rainfall!
