  • 5. It is also a memorable occasion to make New Year's resolutions.
  • 6. Celebrations start on New Year's Eve (December 31st), the final day of the Gregorian calendar year.
  • 7. New Year's Eve is celebrated with parties spanning the transition of the year at midnight.
  • 8. In the United States, New Year's Eve is a major social holiday.
  • 9. New York is one of the top destination cities for New Year's Eve.
  • 10. The "ball dropping“ (Waterford crystal ball) from the top of Times Square is an awaited happening.
  • 11. New year parties are among the liveliest in the year, and people have so much fun.
  • 12. Fireworks mark the celebration and other festivities in several world cities.
  • 13. The next morning, on New Year’s day people visit parades, sporting events, etc.
  • 14. Families and friends wish their loved ones a happy and prosperous new year.
