This is the front cover of my school basedmagazine. Throughout the whole page I haveused a consistent house style by using the greenand white. As well as this he background hasthese colours also which overall makes themagazine look more effective and realistic.I have stuck to the main conventions ofmagazines, by using the left third for most of thecoverlines. These coverlines are also relevant tothe magazine eg. “a fresh start, a new uniform”The main picture itself is relevant and useful to themagazine as the picture is of the students headand shoulders, giving us a better focal point forthe picture as we can just look at the studentsface without our attention being drawn to otherobjects in the picture.I have aimed the main target audience at parentsof students at the school. This is because Ibelieve parents would be more inclined to read themagazine. As well as this, by having parents asmy target audience, there is a wide range ofcoverlines that can be used to relate to parents.
This is the contents page for my school basedmagazine. I have used the same, consistent housestyle as the front cover as this is following the simpleconventions of magazine. I think the colour greengoes really well with my background picture, which isan appropriate image for a school based magazine. All of my storylines are relevant to the purpose of themagazine e.g. “Kirsten Brown goes to Cambridge!” Ibelieve this is suitable to the target audience asparents would want to see that students from thisschool will go far in life. These storylines are alsoeasy to red and I have used vocabulary that wouldbe easy to understand for all ages, so that, althoughmy target audience is for parents, students would beable to read the stories that interest them.A disadvantage to this page, is that my contentspage hasnt been broken into categories for whateach article is about. This is something I can developin my music magazineMy pictures at the side that I have used are alsorelevant to the context of this magazine. Each pictureshows a student of the school either doing work or incertain areas of the school. This could give theimpression to the target audience that the studentsat this school are hard working and succeed atschool.
