  8. 8. PREVIOUS WORK The different series of processors were based on different architecture and technologies.  First generation AMD processors like AM2900 were created in 1975. The basic design of this technology is founded on the principles of slice topology.  The purpose of the slice technology is to make them compatible components for computer control unit.8
  9. 9.  AM29000 was created on the RISC strategy. RISC or reduced instruction set computer is a type of standard for the design of CPU.  Am29100 is a list of supporting chips and micro controllers. These processors are really intelligent that they can even perform the operations of the softwares. AM29200 family was intended for the microcontroller computer.  The Am29300, AM29400, AM29500, Am29600, AM29700, Am29800 and Am29900 are also among the list of Am2900 family.9
  10. 10.  Next family of microprocessors is X86 Architecture which was a variable length dual address design with focus on backward compatibility. The entire K series is associated with AMD’s x86 processors.  Opteron was the first processor to run the AMD86 instruction set. It was released in 2003. This processor was aim to compete with the server and workstation market which was already captured by Intel Xeon.10

PRESENT WORK AMD Now Recently has releases AMD Catalyst and AMD CrossFire X This release of AMD Catalyst™ delivers support for the latest AMD CrossFireX™ profiles in a separate executable file ensuring users have access to the absolute latest set of profiles installed on their PC. New profiles added to this release: Borderlands 2:New CrossFire profile Guild War 2:Resolves grass texture corruption observed when changing graphics settings in a CrossFire configuration 11

  13. 13.  AMD and BlueStacks announced a partnership today that will bring 500,000 Android apps to PCs powered by AMD CPUs.  The two forces have launched the AMD App Zone where users can grab the virtualization software required to run Android apps on the PC alongside a number of free apps.  The existing quad-core A10-4655M and dual-core A6-4445M are joined by the new quad-core A8-4555M and the dual-core model A4-4355M.13
  14. 14.  AMD also quietly launched a new Bobcat-based C-series processor. The dual-core C-70 is placed above the current C-60, but features the exact specs with a clock speed of 1 GHz/1.33 GHz, 9 watt TDP, 1 MB L2 cache, 80 active graphics cores as well as a GPU clock speed of 276 MHz/400 MHz.  A second update to the Radeon DRM driver has been released that will be pulled into the Linux 3.8 kernel. This second Direct Render Manager update for the Radeon kernel driver provides new code from AMD that was kept internally for months but is now permitted for open-sourcing.14

It is a memory bank built in the processor core used for storing information recently accessed by a processor, As it is the cache closest to the processor. CONCLUSION  Delivering higher performance with similar power consumption at a lower price therefore seems to be AMD score competence.  Its platforms were offering significant advantages, delivering high performance and power efficiency  AMD was also strongly understanding that end-users buying behavior they are not focusing on performance and hardware specifications, but more on the experience the machine will enable them to live.  AMD’s VISION Technology therefore provides improved performance and battery life, consequently offering higher quality and higher quantity.20
