PARENT GUIDE TO SAT-10 Test Dates: April 10th & 11th, 2012 (make-up 4/12 & 4/13) SAT 10 - Reading Comprehension and Mathematics: Problem Solving subtests – 1st and 2nd only. SESAT 2 – Kindergarten - Reading and Math It is critical that all students be present on the day of the test. The students will feel more comfortable in their own homeroom with their homeroom teacher.

  • 4. WHAT IS THE SAT - 10 The SAT–10 is used to measure student achievement in reading and mathematics in grades K-2. The SAT–10  Multiple choice  Data used to compare student nationwide
  • 5. WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF SCORES?Two types of scores  Percentile scores Range from 1% - 99% (50% is national average)  Stanine scores  Range from 1 (low) to 9 (high)

  • 18. USING THE SAT-TASK CARDS
  • 19. TIPS TO HELP YOUR CHILD’STEST SCORES Read for at least 20-30 minutes a day. Get a good nights sleep the night before test day. Eat a nutritious breakfast before school. Bring a sweater! Make sure that your child is in school on testing dates. Encourage your child to listen carefully to all test-taking directions given by the teacher and to ask questions about any directions that are unclear. Encourage your child to do his/her best!!!!
