  2. 2. 1. Launch MakeMKV.  Insert your DVD disc to the hard drive on Mac.  For a Blu-ray, prepare an external BD drive and insert a BD disc.  Launch MakeMKV. Download MakeMKV
  3. 3. 2. Read and decrypt disc.  Click the DVD icon, the program will start reading and decrypting the disc.
  4. 4. Disc analyzing.
  5. 5. 3. Check chapters to be ripped.
  6. 6. 4. Set output folder.  Click the DVD icon, the program will start reading and decrypting the disc.
  7. 7. 5. Make MKV.  Click the Make MKV button to start DVD/Blu-ray ripping.  The output format comes in MKV format.
  8. 8. 6. Ripping to MKV
  9. 9. 7. Rip done.
  10. 10. 8. Find the output video.  Head to the output folder and find the output video.  Or you can click the output folder icon to find the output path.
  11. 11. Play and convert MKV on Mac MKV is not supported by apple QuickTime Player. Download and install VLC Player to play MKV on Mac. Or you can use imElfin Blu-ray Ripper to rip DVD/Blu-ray and convert formats at the same time.
