    • The Cooke Legacy: Chapter Ten – Attack of the Footie Pajamas
      • A joint legacy between ilovereecee & meadowthayer
      • It’s my first night back home since I left for college when I was a teenager. It feels great to be back where I grew up ! Brandon Mendoza, my soon to be husband, also moved into my parents home with me. Now the house is pretty full! Grandpa Brennan, my parents Caroline and Parker, Brandon and myself are all living here! The first thing I do is make reservations for my honeymoon! I had to do this pretty fast – Mom and Dad’s birthday is coming up soon and I wanted to be back from the honeymoon in time for the party. I also found my dream career in the Education field while browsing online for jobs!
      • Told you we had to move fast, didn’t I? The very next morning after moving back home Brandon and I tied the knot in the exact place my Grandpa Brennan and Grandma Cherry were wed. It was also the very place my parents Caroline and Parker were married!
      • My mom was a little upset about the rush of the whole wedding – she said I didn’t give her enough notice so she could go buy herself a new dress to wear. Ha ha, that’s my mom for you!
      • The shuttle was scheduled to pick Brandon and me up at eight in the morning the day after our wedding. This gave me just enough time to go into work for my first day and make a good impression. I’m already pretty high up in the career ladder thanks to my college degree – hopefully it won’t be too much longer before I’ve achieved my LTW of topping the Education career.
      • I ended up earning a promotion that day, but didn’t have enough time to earn the final one because my honeymoon was finally here! Brandon and I packed out bags and headed out to the house I brought in Twikki Island!
      • Unfortunately it was raining when we arrived, so there wasn’t much we could do. We settled in and enjoyed an early lunch before heading out to adventure around the island.
      • The first place we visited was an outside spa. This was obviously my choice, Brandon wasn’t as interested in getting a massage as I was. Guess it’s a woman thing?
      • Anyway, me being a knowledge aspiration, I can’t just relax on my vacation. I’m always eager to learn more and that’s just what I did! When I purchased the massage I also purchased a lesson on how to give a hot stone massage. Maybe I can surprise Brandon with it one day? 
      • It took a little longer than I had thought to learn the hot stone massage. Brandon didn’t mind waiting though. He found a nice comfy hammock to kick back and relax in. He spent the day basking in the sunshine and reading a book. He was totally content for hours and hours! Can you tell he is also a knowledge aspiration!?
        • The next day was all for Brandon. I felt bad about taking up the entire first day with my massages, so I let him decide where we went the second day on our honeymoon. Bran chose to learn how to do the fire dance! So while my new hubby learned slowly by surely how to twirl the fire ended stick, I passed my time digging for small treasures in the sand. I found a necklace and a few keepsakes to take home with us.
      • On the very last day of our honeymoon, Brandon and I decided to stay home and enjoy the vacation home we’d invested in. While Brandon soaked up some more sun, I had a surprise planned for him. I was painting his family portrait which would hang in our bedroom at home.
      • When I finished the portrait to call my parents, Caroline and Parker. Mom said her and dad’s birthday party was set for six the next evening and to bring loads of souvenirs and stories to share!
        • After dinner that evening, Brandon and I had a friendly
        • competition with a game of pool. As smart as we both are,
        • our pool skills suck equally. Neither of us walked away a
        • winner, but we sure had a good time!
      • And of course we had an even better time before we said goodnight to each other that evening. I know a lot of couples want to start trying to conceive on their honeymoon, but Bran and I want to wait until we get established in our careers before we have kids. So we made sure to be extra careful!
      • Brandon and I had a FANTASTIC honeymoon. I learned a few customs from the island culture, got pampered and had a relaxing time in general with my new hubby.
      • We left Twikki Island early that morning and got back home just in time to celebrate my parent’s birthday! Grandpa Brennan was also there to help cheer on my mom and dad, Caroline and Parker.
      • I think my mom and dad aged into an adorable elderly couple. They’ve always been in love and it’s great to be able to say that my parents have been together since their college days and that they are still together after all these years. It definitely gives me something to strive for with my marriage to Brandon.
      • Grandpa Brennan has taken a liking to spending his days out of doors. He passes a lot of time caring for the plants in the green house and tending to the apple, orange and lemon trees surrounding it. It’s like having a full time gardener that you do not have to pay!
      • Well it didn’t take long before I tackled my lifetime want! I’ve reached the top of the Education career and it sure didn’t take long – just two promotions away from when I got hired! Thank goodness I went to college 
      • My new lifetime want is to reach the top of the journalism career to become a media magnate. But before that, Brandon and I had a few other things on our mind. Like trying for a baby – that’s right, we’re hoping to welcome a little one soon!
      • I knew Grandpa Brennan was getting on in his age, but it still came as a shock when he passed away. During his daily tending of the garden the heat must have just become too much for him to bear. The Grim Reaper and his Hula Girls came to claim my beloved grandpa.
      • Mom, Grandpa Brennan’s oldest daughter, was so very torn up over Grandpa’s death. She put on a brave face for the rest of us in the house, but I know she’s extremely upset. She locks herself in the bathroom or her and dad’s bedroom at night and I hear her crying. It’s so sad!
      • When one life ends, another begins. At least that is what my husband Brandon told me. I found out for sure that I am going to have a baby soon. Bran and I are very excited to see if we are having a boy or a girl. I just wish that my Grandpa Brennan could be here to see me pregnant and to see the birth of my and Bran’s very first child!
      • Since Grandpa Brennan has passed away the rest of us split up the work with the family gardens. Maybe it is because I’m pregnant, or maybe it isn’t, but gardening is a lot more work than it seems! I have no earthly idea how Grandpa Brennan managed to keep up with all of these plants by himself.
      • Bran still has not found the career that will lead to the completion of his lifetime want (to reach the top of the intelligence career). So during the days he spends his time studying the skills he thinks he will need to succeed in the intelligence field. Of course this is all fun and games to him because he is a knowledge sim.
      • It was a Tuesday night when I was headed to bed that I went into labor. I hadn’t been feeling strange at all throughout the day, so it caught me off guard when the labor pains hit. Bran was asleep, but my screams soon woke him up!
It’s a good thing he woke up too, or else I would have had a little trouble holding my first born to deliver his twin! My son Elias and daughter Elisa were born with brown hair and eyes and I couldn’t be a prouder mom! They’re gorgeous babies!
      • Elias and Elisa sure are spoiled rotten already! They are only a few hours old and their Grandpa Parker and Grandma Caroline will not let them rest for a moment. They always want to play with the babies, feed and bathe them. Guess I’ll have to get used to sharing my little ones with my parents 
      • It seemed all too soon to go back to work after the twins were born, but duty calls. I started my new job very high up on the career ladder in the journalism field. That is my second lifetime want – to reach the top of that field!
      • My first day at work went well, but I couldn’t entirely focus on writing columns when I couldn’t get my mind away from Elias and Elisa. As soon as the carpool dropped me off, I made a beeline for the nursery my babies shared. I can’t help but look at them and think how amazing it is that Brandon and I created these two gorgeous kids!
      • I’ve always been told by other parents that your kids grow up entirely too fast. But I never realized how true that statement was until I had two of my own children. It seems like yesterday I gave birth to Elias and Elisa. Now they are growing into toddlers! It makes my head spin to think that they’ll be learning how to walk and talk soon.
      • And here are my brown haired, brown eyed beauties! I’m so proud of them for just becoming gorgeous toddlers. Elias and Elisa were put into similar striped rompers and immediately fed their bottles and put to bed. They were exhausted after their small birthday party and needed to get a lot of rest. Tomorrow Brandon and I have big plans for them – they’re going to start their toddler skilling!
      • It turns out my babies – er, I guess I have to call them my toddlers now – weren’t the only ones with big plans for the next day. My boss greeted me the morning after Elias and Elisa’s birthday and told me that I was being promoted to his position so he could retire! It sure is good to achieve a second LTW. My new and third is to become a city planner.
      • But it looks like I won’t be starting a new job anytime soon! I was teaching Elias how to walk that very same night when I found out that I was pregnant for the second time! Brandon and I are going to be parents of three – or four if we have another set of twins. God help us if that happens though; what a handful that would be!
      • Okay, I just HAVE to show you how cute the twins bedtime clothes are. They are fleece footie pajamas. Adorable right!? Elisa wears a pink pair obviously and Elias has a pair that matches hers, but his jammies are green.
      • And just when you thought my children couldn’t get any cuter ;)
      • My poor children are doomed with two knowledge aspiration parents! Instead of playing with wobbily wabbit heads and xylophones, we have our toddlers learn their basic skills before they get to move onto their toys at the end of the day. Usually we split up and tackle one child at a time. That way much more gets done than one parent trying to teach two. Good thing I’m on maternity leave, or else I don’t know if I would have the time to help Bran teach Elias and Elisa how to walk, talk and use the potty.
      • Brandon has finally found his desired career. We’ve been married for a while now and have two gorgeous children and another on the way and the intelligence career is just now showing up on the computer. It’s not that we desperately need the money, but it would be nice to have Brandon achieve his lifetime time want within his lifetime, ha ha.
      • I hadn’t been feeling very well the night that Elias learned to talk. Although I was thrilled my son could now express his feelings with words instead of crying and pointing, I was a little distracted by the pain in my back and my severe exhaustion. I love the baby I am carrying, but I sure do hope he or she comes very, very soon! I don’t know how much longer I can stand being pregnant and running after two toddlers!
      • It’s almost like magic how I went into labor the very night I was wishing my baby would come soon. It’s as if my beautiful brown eyed, brown haired daughter could read my mind! Brandon was asleep again when I went into labor, but woke up in time to see me give birth to our third child whom we named Emily.
      • The next day we were celebrating Elias and Elisa’s birthday! I really feel old now that my twins are turning school aged! Their Granny Caroline and Grandpa Parker joined the celebrations as they spun into big children.
      • Elias and Elisa just keep getting cuter and cuter! Well, I’m a little biased to that opinion, but I think my little munchkins aged into sharp looking children. Both of them kept their wavy brown hair and dark brown eyes. I’m starting to see a lot of myself in Elisa. We share the same large, glassy eyes. Elias looks much like me too, but I can see more of his father in him.
      • I told you my poor children were doomed! Every day when Elias and Elisa come home from school they have get a minute to go potty and eat a snack and then it’s right down to business. I know we annoy our children, but as knowledge aspirations Brandon and I can’t help but to want to see our children succeed in school. After their homework we ask that Elias and Elisa work on their skilling. It’s never too early to start earning scholarships!
      • I thought Emily would be my final child, but looks like other plans were in store for me and Brandon! I guess we weren’t been as careful* as we thought in the bedroom.
      • *As soon as I accidentally hit try for a baby instead of woohoo, I knew this would happen!
      • I know I haven’t shown you very many pictures of my youngest daughter Emily. It is because she is a very calm and quiet baby. She’s never very fussy – only when she wants a bottle or needs her diaper changed. I guess I think she’s such an easy baby because I compare her the twins at this age. Emily is definitely much easier to care for than two crying babies!
      • And before long Emily’s birthday had snuck up on us all. My little girl is going to be a toddler, I really can’t believe this.
      • We held her birthday party while the twins were at school. I know they’ll be mad they missed all the cake and fun, but won’t they be surprised when they come home and see Emily all grown up!?
      • What an adorable little girl Emily turned out to be! She looks a lot like her older sister, except Emily’s hair is straight as a board!
      • Emily’s daddy put her in a green jumper and matching light green sandals. They just look too cute on her!
      • Like her sister and brother’s toddler birthday, Emily is fed a bottle and put down for a nap. She has a lot of skilling ahead of her for the following day. 
      • And just on schedule, Grandpa Parker starts helping my little Emily learn her toddler skills the very next morning. Instead of starting with walking or talker, my dad decides to earn some brownie points with Emily and teach her the fun stuff instead – nursery rhymes!
      • Since my father Parker took the fun job of singing nursery rhymes with Emily, I was left with the tough tasks. Though it wasn’t very hard at all to teach little Emily to talk. Her first word was even “mommy”! Just makes my heart melt!
      • Emily is such a precious child. At night after she is done with her skilling, Emily is allowed to play with her toys. This is her special time and it’s cute to see my baby make up different scenarios for the different toys she has.
      • Emily is not the only one working on her skills lately. Elias and Elisa have “study time” each night after dinner. When they come home from school they are allowed a snack and a quick playtime before homework and study time. Usually Brandon joins our children for this quiet time because he has studying of his own to do for his next promotions.
      • Elias and Elisa do get some down time to enjoy each others company and play around. They are very similar twins and both are early birds. They wake up a few hours before the school bus comes to pick them up, and this time is completely their own. They enjoy telling knock-knock jokes and rock, paper scissors in their bedroom before school.
      • It’s plain to see that Emily is mom and dad’s favorite grandchild. I love all my children equally of course (including the little one I’m carrying) and in my opinion, my parents Parker and Caroline should love them all the same. But they definitely have a soft spot for little Emily. They sure spend a lot of quality time together playing with all of Emily’s toddler toys and singing nursery rhymes.
      • My due date is finally here! My third, and definitely last, pregnancy seemed to drag out forever. I love my children, but I’ll never have another. Taking care of three young children and carrying a fourth is just too exhausting.
      • That certainly didn’t make me any less excited when my baby boy Eddison, or as I already nicknamed him “Eddie”, was born. He looks exactly like his father, but with brown hair of course! I’m so happy that my family is now complete.
      • When I first had Eddison, I thought that my life wouldn’t change much with just one more child. Boy was I wrong! Eddie is a fussy little man and requires a lot of attention. I’ve gone back to work fulltime to try to become a city planner, so it’s hard to look after all of my little ones. Luckily I have my wonderful parents Parker and Caroline to help out. Although whenever my parents baby sit, Emily tends to be the child that gets the most attention.
      • Another reason taking care of four children is so hard? My husband is finally advancing in his career and well on his way to achieving his lifetime want, to reach the top of the intelligence career. I’m not complaining about this (I’m definitely excited for him), but the more promotions he gets, the more time he has to put in at work. And the less time he has to help out at home.
      • Thankfully I don’t have to worry much about my twins. Elias and Elisa know what is expected of them and for the most part, they do what they are supposed to be doing. I don’t get to spend enough time with them, but every chance I get I say how proud I am of these two. They’re almost halfway done with this skills for college!
      • On my off days I spend as much time as I can with Eddie. Brandon is at work, the twins are at school and Emily is more often than not being cooed over by my parents. So really my only option is to play with Eddison. I don’t mind though. I want to soak up as much time with him as I can. I’ll for sure miss the baby stages once Eddie is a toddler.
      • Emily’s birthday arrived and of course my dad brought her to the cake. Everyone gathered around to watch my youngest daughter age into a child. And isn’t she a cute kid!? I have to say, she looks a lot like her gorgeous mommy, doesn’t she 
      • Emily is a child now and that means her grandparents can’t monopolize her with kisses and toys. She has to join her older siblings in study time. Elias and Elisa, who are used to this routine, have an easier time focusing on their books than my little Emily does. Poor girl, she keeps looking around and at her brother and sister. . . everywhere but her cooking book! Looks like Brandon and I will have to help her.
      • Eddison’s birthday wasn’t too far behind Emily’s. I couldn’t believe it was time for my youngest to grow up. I helped him blow out his candles and tossed him in the air. He went up as a baby, but came down as a precious toddler!
      • After all the cake had been eaten and the balloons had popped, the older children knew it was time to work on the skills for scholarships! Elias got out of his study time by claiming he was just too tired, my poor little man!
      • Elisa and Emily did wonderfully and managed to study well even when they were loaded up with sugar and frosting from Eddison’s birthday cake.
      • The next morning it was time for Eddison to begin learning his essential toddler skills. I tried to teach him how to walk before I had to jet off to work, but Eddie would just cock his cute little head to the side and laugh. Guess he isn’t ready to walk just yet 
      • My mom, Caroline, had no trouble at all teaching Eddison how to talk though. He caught on rather quickly and once he learned how to speak, Mom said he just wouldn’t stop talking!
    • In the intelligence career, Brandon usually has Sundays and Mondays off from work. Sundays he spends time skilling to reach the final promotion, but on Mondays he spends a lot of time with our little Emily. She just had her first day of school and came home loaded with homework. Of course with her daddy’s help, she was done in no time at all 
      • I was upset that I had to miss seeing Emily get on the bus for her first day of school, because my carpool came earlier than the bus. However, I ended up making my final promotion that very same day and fulfilled my third lifetime want! Emily ran outside to congratulate me with a hug – she is such a precious little girl.
      • Time has really gone by fast in this house! I can’t believe it’s already time for my twins to become teenagers and choose their paths to follow for the rest of their lives! Elias and Elisa were excited to turn into teenagers of course, but I was a little wary of what was to come.
      • Elias grew into a handsome young man. He looks so like his father. Elias rolled a Popularity/Family aspiration.
      • I can’t complain much there – it could have been much worse!
Elisa aged into a beautiful young lady. I was a little shocked by her choice in main aspiration! She is a Romance/Knowledge. Even though she’ll be wanting many boys chasing her, I know I’ve instilled good values into her, so I don’t have to worry too much.
      • Elias and Elisa are a little heavy set for their age. I guess keeping them cooped up inside for study time every night through their childhood wasn’t the best idea. They haven’t totally finished their skills yet, but I bought them a basketball goal to get some exercise and build their body skills at the same time. Great idea, huh!?
      • It’s time for my baby to grow into a child! I can’t believe it’s already time for my littlest child to age into a big kid! Boy how time flies.
      • Eddison’s birthday came quickly and before I knew it he was a handsome little boy.
      • Right away he went to work skilling with this father, because he wants to make a good impression when the Headmaster come to visit tomorrow!
      • The visit from the private school’s Headmaster went well! After a tour around my family’s home, I made pork chops and rice. Elisa joined us for dinner and chatted with the Headmaster about how much time she and her siblings spent studying. The Headmaster was very impressed and happily accepted Elias, Elisa, Emily and Eddison into his school!
      • The kids started their first day of private school the very next day! Of course Brandon and I are thrilled that our children were accepted. Now they can the best education possible with smaller classrooms and more one-on-one time with their instructors.
      • Plus, my littlest ones just look adorable in their new uniforms, don’t they? 
      • Now that my children are all school aged, my parents Caroline and Parker are off baby sitting duty. With hours of free time now on their hands, they fall back to their romance aspiration. Thankfully I’m at work during the day so I don’t have to worry about walking in on them making out or woohooing. That’s just gross!
      • Elias has gotten enough skills to earn all of his academic scholarships. Now he is also left with a lot of free time. As a popularity aspiration, he wants to start befriending everyone! The matchmaker helps him with this quest; although, Elias isn’t very pleased when Amy Jones the paper girl is his very first date. Guess he feels five thousand dollars should have bought someone a little more interesting.
      • Elias and Amy actually ended up having a blast together. Once they got past the awkward introduction, they decided to hang out by the pool. They played Marco Polo for a few hours and soon were friends. It looks like Amy may end up being Elias’s first best friend outside of the family!
      • Elias said goodbye to Amy in time to join all of us inside for Emily’s teenage birthday party. My youngest daughter is going to been a teenager, I can’t believe it! I am crossing my fingers that she gets a decent aspiration.
Emily aged into a beautiful young lady. Her primary aspiration is Family, something I definitely approve of. She got the secondary Romance aspiration. Hopefully she stays true to her main aspiration though!
      • Having a primary Romance aspiration is fun for my daughter Elisa, but it makes me worry. She has started dating and to be honest, I’m a little nervous. She has gotten all of the skills she needs to get her scholarships, but I’m hoping that her aspiration won’t be a problem when she moves to college. I want her to be focused on her grades – not on the boys in her grade!
        • Some good news in the house is that I have finally found my latest dream career. My fourth and latest LTW is to reach the top of the entertainment career. I know it doesn’t sound like a step up from my last job as a city planner, but I’m ready to try something new in my life, something fun!
      • I told you Elisa has been dating a lot lately! Only one day after her date with the Ottomas boy, I found my oldest daughter in the kitchen kissing some boy who I had never even met!
I tell you what, this girl is going to make me have a heart attack one day. I hope she makes high enough grades to make it though college. She’s already beginning to neglect her homework to kiss boys in my kitchen!
      • Two of my children that I don’t have to worry about are my youngest. Thank goodness Emily rolled a family aspiration. All she wants is to go to college, meet the right guy to settle down with and have a few kids. Right now Eddie is too young to know what he wants to do with his life, so for now he focuses on his skills. This makes me a happy mother!
      • Time sure flies by! It seems like yesterday I was graduating college with my siblings and now it’s already time for my children to go to college!
      • That’s right, my youngest son Eddison is now a teenager!
      • Eddie rolled a Popularity/Romance aspiration. I had hoped for Knowledge in there somewhere, but I know Eddie is a smart boy and will do well in school.
      • It’s finally happened! The night of my husband Brandon and mine’s dual birthday, he finally achieved his lifetime want! It took him a while to find the intelligence career, but ever since Brandon did he’s been working his butt off and it’s finally paid off. I’m so happy for my husband!
      • Now boy do I feel old! I told you it was Brandon and mine’s birthday. It was our elder birthday, but I sure don’t feel this old! I have white hair now just like my mom. I guess four kids will do that too you though! Brandon and I are happy with the way our lives have turned out. We have four beautiful and smart children. And now it is up to you, the reader, to decide which one of them will carry on my family’s legacy.
      • Okay everyone, thanks for reading the chapter. This is where I will end the update. Like Daniella said, it’s time for YOU to choose the next heir. Elias, Elisa Emily and Eddison are all great choices to carry on the legacy. It is up to you to decide which one it will be. Thanks for reading, again, and don’t forget to vote in the heir poll at SiMania!
