  • 3. About the deserts <ul><li>The deserts have lots of sand storms. </li></ul><ul><li>They ride camels in the desert </li></ul><ul><li>Egypt only has sand and some plants </li></ul><ul><li>Some people that go to Egypt see water but there is no water. </li></ul>

  • 9. Where Egypt is. <ul><li>Egypt is in the north part of Africa. </li></ul><ul><li>situated at the northeastern corner of Africa by Mediterranean sea, in the east by Israel and the red sea, in the south by Sudan, and to the west by Libya. </li></ul>
  • 10. This is how deep is the water is in Egypt <ul><li>The altitude of Egypt ranges from 123m (436ft) below sea level in the Libyan desert to about 2,629m (8,600ft) at mount Catherine in the Sinai peninsula. </li></ul>

Kinds of food in Egypt. <ul><li>They made wheat into bread and into soup and porridge. </li></ul><ul><li>They also added hops to make the barley into beer. </li></ul><ul><li>Some people think the real reason that the Egyptian first began growing grain was to make beer. </li></ul><ul><li>This is the model </li></ul><ul><li>of the beer in jars. </li></ul>
  • 12. 16 things about there clothes <ul><li>All clothes were almost always made of linen which is made from flax. </li></ul><ul><li>Flax: a plant having small leaves, blue flowers and stems about two feet tall. </li></ul><ul><li>Flax was pulled out of the ground, not cut. </li></ul><ul><li>This backbreaking work was done mostly by men. </li></ul><ul><li>Half-ripe flax stems made the best thread. </li></ul><ul><li>If the stems were too ripe, they were used for mats and rope. </li></ul><ul><li>Flax stems were soaked for several days. </li></ul><ul><li>The fibers were separated. </li></ul><ul><li>Then the fibers were beaten until soft. </li></ul><ul><li>The spinner attached the fibers to the spindle. </li></ul><ul><li>The fibers were twisted into strong thread. </li></ul><ul><li>The weaving was done on a loom. </li></ul><ul><li>A loom is a frame made of two beams held by four pegs in the ground. </li></ul><ul><li>White linen needed constant washing. It was washed in the river or canal, rinsed, then pounded on a stone, and, bleached in the sun. </li></ul><ul><li>Linen clothes needed to be repleated every time they were washed. </li></ul><ul><li>To do so they pressed the linen into grooves on a wooden board and let it dry. </li></ul>
