The Webb Legacy Chapter 1
"I've got a bad feeling about this..."
"Please don't tell me..."
“It can’t be!"
*sigh* "A Legacy"Yes, here's an addition to all the legacy clutter throughout the exchange. I swore off legacies for a while, there was nothing but mishaps with me, but I'm back, and hopefully better than ever. Meet Elise Webb. She just graduated college [don't run around searching for the college years, I skipped documenting those], and found herself on a large empty lot located in scenic Bayside. Elise is a Pleasure sim with the want to go on 50 dream dates. Achievable, I think.
As she was filling in a large hole in her yard, a large bull mastiff strolls up to her. At first, she's hit by dismay. This dog would be bothering her for the rest of eternity if she didn't do something about it.
But then she looks into his large eyes, and she sees all the same frustration that she's under."You poor thing, you don't have much more of a home than I do. You know what doggy, why don't you stick around. How do you like the name Baron? There needs to be something grand about my life."And stay Baron did. As soon as that first bowl of food was poured, there was no getting rid of him.
After befriending this giant of a dog, Elise resorts to calling up a college bud of hers. Last she heard, he was living somewhere in nearby Sim City. They lived in the same dorm until he graduated and moved on to work for the Chronicsim as a journalist. During college, they were the best of friends, and even shared a fling.
They agreed to meet at Bayside Park. As she waited for the taxi, Elise skimmed the paper for employment."Hmm, 'artists wanted'. Sounds promising. It is what I trained for those four long years at Academie le Tour. I'll be sure to call later today."
Elise and Jason, her college bud, spent the day fishing.
"Hey look, I got something! It’s a big one, maybe we should grill it later tonight."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah you show-off. You keep catching those big fish while I trip over my own line."Elise spent more of the outing on the ground than with her line in the water.
As it got dark, Elise and Jason cuddled on the bench. The two caught up on the past two years, and Elise told Jason of her predicament as a legacy founder."See, I somehow got tricked into this legacy thing. I followed the deed left to me by my grandfather to this gorgeous sea-side lot nearby. As his last wish, he wanted me to come and re-establish the family here in Bayside. Apparently, we were fairly prominent here, but then those Goths moved in. There wasn't room for the two families in this small hovel, and the Webbs left for Sim City. As I stood at the edge of my property, I realized that what this truly was is a legacy.""But Elsie, you're just out of college. How are you supposed to live on an empty plot of land, with no money, and no established job?"
As she got up to leave, Jason asked her to wait. He got down to one knee, and pulled out a small box."Elsie... would you take me for your husband? I loved you all through college while you dated all those guys. I waited for you those two overlapping years until we were finally together before I graduated, and after that I never stopped loving you. Take me as your one and only love now and me and my meager savings will help you in your grandfather's wish."
"Oh Jason! I always loved you too, it just took me until you were gone to realize it. Of course I will take your hand in marriage. I can't promise you quick prosperity, but I can promise you eternal love."
Jason brought in $7000, and with Elise's $5400, they managed to lay the foundation for their future home. There were walls and a floor, and the bare necessities for the time being. It’s not much more than lawn living, but slightly more dignified.
The two were a romantic couple. They would take any chance and any occasion to show affection for each other. This time, however, Jason really did have an occasion to pull his bride-to-be away from her cooking. "Elsie, I was thinking about our purpose here in Bayside. Your grandfather hoped for us to become prominent, and what better way to become known than through local business. I remember how in college you always planned to start your own salon. Well I want to bring you one step closer to that reality..."
Elise pulled out of Jason’s embrace. "Sweety, how are we supposed to afford a small business? We hardly...""...have money for the house? It's okay, there's plenty left over for some construction and decoration of the house too.""Left over of what?"“My Christmas bonus from work. The higher-ups have been impressed with my job performance and offered me a promotion and a superb bonus and raise.""Jason... I'm speechless."
The money, of course, could've been better spent. Within the month, Elise realizes that she has a bun in the oven. Elsie had to forget about setting up a shop for a while; she had more important things to worry about.
Soon Elsie became anxious. Jason and she had not even married yet.
"Elsie, you really shouldn't worry. Why don't you rest, and I'll take care of the wedding. We'll be wed before you start showing much more.""Sweety, things like this remind me why I chose you over everyone else."
And Jason kept true to his word. Although a winter wedding wasn't the romantic wedding they had hoped for, they couldn't wait much longer. It was a small wedding, just a few friends from Sim City and the Academie were invited.
"Look Lakshmi! In case you missed it, I just got married. You're Elsie's friend, so STOP hitting on me.""Well soo-rry. I guess I was in the bathroom for that part."Gotta love the havoc ACR may wreak. Poor Lakshmi realized she'll have a hard time finding a man to love her mug, and followed Jason around all evening. She kept flirting, he kept staying faithful to his new wife.
He made sure to put on a show to remember for the rest of the guests. If any of the guests doubted the faithfulness of either spouse, their suspicions were shot down with this. Jason made sure that his undying love for his Elsie was exhibited to everyone at the party.
"Who's my little boy? When's he gonna come to the world?""Wait, how do you know he's going to be a boy? I want a girl."Even though life was hard for the newlyweds, they were excited over the baby and worked only to make its life good.
One snowy morning, as Baron and Jason sat around and watched TV, they heard a scream of pain coming from the bedroom.
"Jason Wheeler-Webb! Ahhhhhh! I'm going to kill you for this! I'm a pleasure sim, I don't like this pain! Go find a family sim if you want kids! Owwwwwwwwwwwooooooooo!"
"But then again, he is so cute. I'm going to name him... Aaron."
"Who's my little cutey-wooty."
This kid quickly became spoiled rotten. Only one room in the house was completed, and it was Aaron's. Both Jason and Elise, something unseen in my sim history, walked in here not to feed him, but to snuggle.
In just a few days, Aaron grew up into a bald little toddler surrounded by Elise's ex-boyfriends. This boy will be scarred for life.
With a quick visit to the mirror, Aaron proved himself to be very adorable.
Baron was slowly growing old, so the family decided it was time to bring home a mate. Meet Sobe, yes, named for the drink. I really should stop watching TV while I play this game.
Baron and Sobe actually hit it off. Maybe this isn't a problem in anybody else's game, but my pets tend to hate eachother.
"Uh-oh!"Soon after Sobe's adoption, Elise became sick. It seemed like morning sickness, but it couldn't be another child, could it?
"This isn't good..."
There was a strong friendship growing between Baron and Aaron.
"Once upon a time, there was a teddy bear. He lived in big house with a sweet little girl. But there was a secret to this teddy bear..."
"Mommy, me no wanna here faiwy tales..."
"Cause I'm too old for fairy tales."Just like that, Aaron realized he has grown up. Although, I wouldn't say he's so old that he couldn't still enjoy a story.
"I can't believe we're having another child. Maybe we should hope for a little girl this time."Elise stood there, seeing how much Jason really loved her. Although she wanted to start working towards her dream shop, her anxiety melted away.
Of course, that wasn't the child wasn't the only thing that got in the way of the store. Their slowly growing fortune was attracting attention, and there was a friendly visit from a burglar.
The crook was apprehended, and the Webbs rewarded for aiding in the arrest. Of course, what did they do, other than installing an alarm? Whatever.
Early the next morning, Elise felt a familiar pain. Her child was on it's way.
She was excited to see her new baby boy, who she named Bradley.
Anyone ever have that problem where you call a sim to chat, and then they show up uninvited? Well these sims have take it all to the next level. Aaron called my sister's sim's kid, and within the hour, his dad was playing darts in the house.
In just a short time, Brad was ready to grow up. What seemed like the entire town was invited to the party.
Brad was a cute toddler. He was always ready to play with everyone and anyone.
Of course, there were times when his toddler-hood wasn't too great. And where there's a sleeping baby in the bathroom...
...there's a nanny. She seemed more interested in the culinary channel than doing whay she was payed for.
Of course, two children wasn't enough in this hectic first generation life. The Webbs were soon expecting a third... or maybe fourth... addition to the family.
Meanwhile, Brad was ready to grow up. With Elise ready to pop at any moment, it was a small party, with just the family and the neighboring Fancey family.
To keep to his brother's precedent, Brad transitioned in his PJs."Yay, time for school. I'll make lots of friends, and hopefully there will be lots of girls!"Do I sense a Romance sim in my near future?
Elise's family had taken over her life. That very next day, she went into labor. Somehow I missed taking a shot of the baby, so I'll just tell you, he was yet another little boy named Cameron.
"Eeyore, somebody really stinks at childhood. You're my only friend."Whoops, I completely forgot kids need friends.
"Well, good-bye Eeyore. I wish for girls!"
"...and with this body the ladies should be easy to get."He rolled Romance, and wants to WooHoo with twenty of those ladies he was talking about.
Outside, there was another celebration. Sobe could say she has her own family. You can't see her well, but it's a black puppy who I named Bella.
When in doubt, Brad can always be found taking a nap on the couch. Even in a big party, he's still napping.
"So Bella, did you know you're gorgeous? You want to call me sometime?"
"Listen kiddo, you are cute, but about twenty sim days too young for me. How about we have this conversation when you at least get to college."
I'm thinking that this kid should've transitioned as family. His favorite room in the house is the nursery currently occupied by Cameron.
When Aaron got around to taking a shower the next morning, he saw his clothes wasn't even fit to leave the house in. He threw on a tracksuit and headed downtown.
Of course, that wasn't the only reason he went shopping. Where else to find girls than in a clothing store?
"Oooh. She's cute."
"Hey baby, how's about you come on a date with the coolest guy around?""Really, where is he?"
"I meant me.""You?! How about you find some real clothes before trying to talk to girls. Call me when you're less of a loser."
Of course, that didn't phase him long. He soon moved on to Melody Tinker.
But Crumplebutt scared her off when she came over and started beating him with her purse. Grim must've stopped calling because she attacked with just a flirt.
"Hey kid, you look familiar. Have I seen you before?""I've never met you in my life mister. What are you doing here?""The nice lady who lives here invited me over, so scram.""That nice lady is my mommy, so you should be nice to me.""You don't look like you're related to them, you know, apart from the black hair and brown eyes."
Cam's birthday came up faster than anticipated.
It seems that he got more of his dad's Asian genes than his moms. Those eyes are definitely his.
Brad, of course, slept through the entire celebration.
Aaron and Cameron could be called best friends. They were inseparable, or at least Aaron wouldn't leave Cam alone. Who knows how Cam feels about all of this, he couldn't exactly say anything just yet. Aaron, though, was ready to change that. During Cam's toddlerhood, he was taught to walk and talk and was potty-trained, all thanks to his older brother.
"Ok, so here's a bottle for you kiddo, and there's a bottle for the stinky doggy. Everyone needs his calcium, yes he does.""Doggy is a giwl, miss nanny.""See, that's why little boys and girls don't need to be taught to talk, they get to sassy."And this is who we entrust our sim-kid's health to, ladies and gents.
At long last, while Cameron's intellect was being stolen by the nanny, Elise opens up her store. She created many pieces of art for her many employers to get this far, and finally built her boutique/salon.
The Webb Boutique and Salon was a two-story building, with the shop downstairs, and an apartment upstairs for those long weekends.
"*ring ring* Hello, Bayside Employment Agency...""Yes, I would like a salesperson for my Boutique as fast as possibly.""...""Someone who comes cheap would be nice.""...""Okay, thanks."
"Like, I was told I'd have to work cheap, but not this cheap. I just got my bronze sales badge, and I was expecting a raise, but noooo... you're too cheap. I QUIT!""But Angela, wait, I was just about to raise your pay.""Don't come begging for me to come back, you lost your chance."Let a family move in next to the Goths and they think they're all that important.
Of course, the day got better."Your skill with scissors is unlike any other's in this town. Usually, you hand scissors to a sim and they meet their unexpected demise... but you. Here, have this tip."
At home, Bella just grew up, or ate so much she got bigger.
And the sims were expecting their own birthday.
Cameron grew up into what seems like a copy of his dad.
The Webbs needed a maid, so the maid company sent one out. Sadly it seems like she needs her eyesight checked out, she can't seem to see all of those puddles."Dog pee is gross, I'm just hoping it turns to weeds before I leave, and then it's not my problem."
"Well, my family, I think it's time for me to grow up. Goodbye childhood..."
"...and welcome teenhood."Maybe Don was right. This kid really doesn't look like his parents. Aaron is ecstatic, his little brother grew up of the Romance persuasion.
"Hmm, I spy a pretty teen girl over there.""Brad, stay away from my date!" Aaron shouted from across the room.
"Jason, our little boys aren't so little anymore. What are we going to do when they go off to college? The house will be so quiet and boring.""Elsie, just remember one of them will come back, and I'm sure his brothers won't stray far."
With Brad drooling over Kay the entire party, Aaron decides to drive to the club that opened up downtown. In contrast to when they first met, they really seemed to hit it off.
They hit it off so well, they were soon sharing their first kiss.
Since her boys were getting to the age that they could take care of eachother, Elise spent more time at the salon. It was really rising up in rank, and got a lot busier. She even hired a second stylist.
"This outfit will just look darling on you. You should try it on!""Well, Sophie, I think you're right. I'm in a hurry, but I'll take it."Sophie was a pretty successful salesperson.
Jodie Larson, one of the Sim Bin sims, however, didn't catch on to the cash register that fast.
"Honey, I'm getting old. I feel that I'll be getting grey and wrinkly soon. Will you still love me?""Which part of eternal love did you misunderstand?"
"Hey! Who put that many candles on this cake? I may be getting old, but not that old!"
"Parker, before I get old and you won't want to listen to me because it'll just sound like all that professor jabber, take my quick advice. Take my good friend Carmen on a date."
"Oww, my back. Maybe I really am as old as that cake told me!"
"Well sweetheart, I told you it wouldn't be all bad. You're still as gorgeous as ever!"
"Thank you Jason!"_____________________And with that, I have to say goodbye to you my dear reader. Thanks for reading. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
