    2. 2.0 Isn’t So New Anymore
      • Interactive technologies & features are now ubiquitous and expected
      • Libraries and librarians need cohesive web presences to network with each other as well as the public
    3. Will They Come?
      • Advertise web presences
        • On Website with badges, widgets
      • Offer a choice of tools
        • Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc.
      • Users will spread the word
    4. Librarians Make Libraries
      • Promote the librarians in the libraries, not just the stuff
        • Link librarians’ social presences to the library’s
        • Show librarians, or their avatars, on things like blogs, etc., especially for teens
    5. Make It A Two-Way Street
      • Let users get interactive
        • Online library card registration
        • Place to share their opinions
        • Encourage sharing of identities, on social sites like MySpace, Facebook, etc.
    6. Get Out There!
      • Make sure library is listed on sites people are searching
        • Gooogle Maps
        • Yahoo Local
        • Ask City
        • Local interest sites
    7. Get Further Out There
      • Create podcasts & videocasts, post them to sites besides library’s website
        • YouTube --Yahoo podcast
        • Google video --podcast.net
        • Bliptv --podcast alley
        • Blinkx --singingfish
    8. But Wait…There’s More
      • Talkshoe.com / Utterli.com
        • Create/manage/host your own audio
        • Can record for podcasting
        • Can push to iTunes
        • Just need headphones w/mic & computer
      • 12seconds.tv
        • Like Twitter for video
      • Ustream.com
        • Live interactive broadcasting
    9. Tweet Tweet
      • Twitter.com
        • What are you doing?
        • Described as microblogging
        • Keeps people/librarians/libraries in touch and communicating
        • Having conversations…
    10. JOIN THE CONVERSATION
      • This is the main point of everything at IL2008, and Web2.0 in general
      • Don’t ask, “Why would I do that?” … Just join the conversation
      • We’ll keep up in the 2.0 world, and bring better services to our public
