2. FRONT COVER
This sketch portrays a brief idea of what my school magazine
would have looked like. It has typical conventions for most
magazines such as a masthead at the top of the page, and the
main sell line at the bottom of the page, as well as sell lines
on either sides. I have done this as although the page is busy
it is also organised, so you can provide all the necessary
information without cluttering the page. I have chosen to use
a long shot showing the outside of the school, which presents
a topic that reaches the students on a more personal level as
they go to the school, and so they may be interested in it,
persuading them to buy my magazine. The word ‘Vibe’ is
quite a modern term and a form of slang which is typically
used by teenagers, naming the magazine “Haydon Vibe”
would interest the students as they would feel as though they
can relate to the magazine, once again persuading them to
buy it.
3. CONTENTS PAGE
This is a rough sketch of what I imagine the contents page
for my school magazine would look like. I laid it out so it is
easy for the reader to navigate their way around the page
to find a certain article or page they want. I have
incorporated conventions that you would find on a typical
magazine contents page, such as the title being at the top
of the page in a larger font to the rest of the text, and at
the bottom of the page the reader is offered the chance to
subscribe to the magazine. To make the page more visually
interesting I have included images related to the articles to
help give an insight into what the article is about.
Furthermore I have put the page numbers in a different
font to the rest of the text to make it easier to locate a
certain page as it is clear and it stands out.
