  • 1. How to make an Art Doll
  • 2. Step 1•Make a severalsimple designs for thetorso using scrappaper•Be sure to make theneck large/thick so itcan support the headwhen stuffed•This will be yourpattern
  • 3. Step 2•Select one design tocut out leaving a seamallowance•This is your pattern
  • 4. Step 3•Cut a piece offabric twice as bigas the pattern•DO NOT wastefabric•DO NOT cut fromthe middle of alarge piece offabric
  • 5. Step 4• Fold fabric and position pattern in center• Pin with just a few pins
  • 6. Step 5•Carefully cut aroundthe fabric•Be sure to NOT cutover any pins
  • 7. Step 6SAVE YOURSCRAPS!!!!!!!!!!!!Other artistscan use them.
  • 8. Step 7•Remove pattern andpins•Cut shapes todecorate the front
  • 9. Step 9•Sew design pieces tofront•Then pin front andback pieces together•Good sides out
  • 10. •Start sewing bothpieces together bymaking a knot•Make a knot bysewing a stitch andpulling the threadthrough the loop•Tuck the tail into thedoll
  • 11. • Then sew all the way around• But leave an opening so you can stuff the piece• Complete another knot at the end
  • 12. • Sew around the 2 pieces, making even stitches• Not too close, and not too far apart• The right distance, and the same throughout the piece• Even stitches like this
  • 13. Leave anopeningThis in whereyou put thestuffing in
  • 14. Step 10: StuffingDeconstruct stuffing Stuff head first
  • 15. Sew the opening closed
  • 16. Make arms and legs Use a chop Stick to get stuffing in
  • 17. Make hands by sinching Attach to torso
  • 18. Body is doneNow it is time toembellish withbeads, ribbon,thread, buttons,yarn, andanything elseyou like to makeit creatively,uniquley yours
