Setup outlook 2010 for imap access to google apps

Setup Outlook 2010 for IMAP Access to Google Apps Configure IMAP access in Outlook 2010 Follow the instructions below to set up IMAP access in Outlook 2010 1. Enable IMAP in your Google mail account. Don’t forget to click Save Changes when you’re done. 2. Open Outlook. 3. Click Files in the navigation bar, and select Add Account… 4. On the E-mail tab, click New… 5. If you are prompted to Choose E-mail Service, select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP, and click Next. 6. Enter your full email address, e.g. ‘username@your_domain.com.’ 7. Select the ‘Manually configure server settings or additional server types‘ checkbox.

In the Account Type dropdown menu, select IMAP. In the ‘Incoming server name’ section, enter: imap.gmail.com and in the ‘Outgoing server name (SMTP)’ section, enter: smtp.gmail.com. b. In the ‘User Name’ field, give your full email address, including ‘@your domain name.’ c. After creating these settings, clicking More Settings.
  3. 3. July 1, 2013 | Version 1.0 I Knowledge Factory Private Limited, Pune. 10. Select the Advanced tab. a. Incoming server must be 993, and must use SSL encryption. b. Outgoing server can use 587, TLS encryption.
  4. 4. July 1, 2013 | Version 1.0 I Knowledge Factory Private Limited, Pune. 11. Click the Outgoing Server tab. Make sure that ‘My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication’ is selected. The radio button ‘Use same settings as my incoming mail server’ should also be selected. 12. Click OK, then click Next. After test is completed, hit Close, and Finish.
