Short Overview of the Stimulus Package

Of the $787 billion in funds allocated by this legislation, $19.2 billion is earmarked to increase the use of Electronic Health Records (EHR) by physicians and hospitals.

The amount of money to be reimbursed to physicians for meaningful use of EMR systems is actually closer to $40 billion, with the additional $20 billion to come from the cost savings to the government of the electronification of the medical system.

As a result each Physician using an EMR system that is CCHIT certified can receive incentives between $44,000 and $65,000 it’s not per a practice but rather per a Physician.

There are additional incentives for using PQRI and e-Prescribing each use will provide between $3,000 and $5,000 a year per a Physician this should be considered as an estimate.

Our system cost far less then the incentives you will receive as a result the stimulus incentives will pay more then your total investment.

For more details please feel free to contact me.

On February 17, 2009, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 was signed into law by President Barak Obama.
